Nobody. Certainly not the Gophers. If they beat Syracuse they'll have beat a team that had to win it's last game to get Bowl Eligible and ends-up at 6-7. If Syracuse wins they'll beat a team that lost it's last three and will be derided as having been "who we thought they were".

Just hope the Gophers stomp the damn Orange and complete a heck-of-a-lot of Passes doing it.
 

IMO a worse gopher team handled a much better Syracuse team last year soooooooo....

This is going to be a blowout. Really disipointed that the Gophers have to play 'Cuse.
 

Why do I suspect that all the votes for Syracuse are coming from the Dairy State?
 

We better win by multiple touchdowns. Just win the game and get to 9 wins. Then get ready for next year. A loss would be awful here.
 

I think we should win, but I hope the team stays focused, is highly motivated to get our 9th win, and doesn't take Syracuse lightly.
 



Hopefully the team doesn't have the same attitude about this game as many posters on here or we really will be in danger of losing.

Though I think we're in danger of having the proverbial letdown bowl game for a team hoping to be somewhere more prestigious, I think we will also be motivated to make up for the choke last year (not to mention that Jerry Kill just about always has the team ready to play). I agree we should win by double digits.

The only thing about Syracuse's resume that gives me a little pause is their final game win against 7-5 Boston College, who have the leading rusher in the nation; they're coming in with momentum with a win over a decent team. Still think we should win by a couple scores.

Something tells me that we'll have to overcome another turnover fest. Penalties will be a factor as the Orange seemed to average about 8-10 for close to 100 yards/game (these statistics are likely embellished guesstimates)
 

Quiet you guys, we're making all the Syracuse message boarders (and visiting lurkers) angry and feeling disrespected. We can't have that. Oh, wait. Never mind, who cares. At least 'rawphenomenon' has the guts to show up and post here. Welcome sir!

Frankly, I don't like that my gut is telling me Minnesota by double digits. It's not a place I'm comfortable in when predicting scores of Gopher football games. But if this is what change feels like, so be it. I'll get over my own programming. Our defense has played stellar football the entire 2nd half of the season, really since the Northwestern game. That alone makes me feel confident. Even if the offense continues its stumbles, a stout D gives us a chance.
