Louisville looks really good

Guard play wins championships. Gotta love Louisville.

I hope to see a Louisville-Michigan match up. That could be fun. I don't know if anyone will beat Louisville though.

With the way Syracuse's defense has been suffocating their opponents in the past few games, I'm having a hard time seeing Michigan pull out the win. Obviously this has been the best that Syracuse has played all year, so I wouldn't be shocked if Michigan won.

I would be shocked (GET IT!?) if WSU were able to topple Louisville. I'll be rooting for them, however. I just don't know if anyone left can beat Louisville.

I agree with you. The only team that I can see beating Louisville is Michigan, because the guards will not let the Louisville pressure beat them. That said, I'm not sure that Michigan can get by Syracuse. The Syracuse zone will give Michigan fits because they defend the 3 point line very well. To me, it looks like it is Louisville's to lose.

I love Michigan's matchup against Syracuse, they are a shooting team and that's how you can beat the 2-3.

Against Louisville, the pressure shouldn't get to Michigan's guards. It would be a tossup if those two met for the championship but I'd lean Michigan because I think they are the most talented team left.

Syracuse has it's best defensive team in years. They start 4 guys with really long arms. Triche isn't that type athelte. Their backcourt, or the front two, stand 6'4" and 6'6" and the use their extended arms to stop passing lanes to the high post. I think unless Hardaway gets hot they will have a tough time (6'5") . Burke at 6' will really have to jump high to get the 3pt shot off. McGary will get stuffed at least 3 times by Syracuse bigs. MC Williams can get to the basket on anyone. I hate to say it but it will be big east, Louisville over the Cuse. Siva and Smith may be the fastest backcourt tandem i have ever seen.

Syracuse zone is beatable. Pitino ran a 1-4 high against Syracuse and ate them up. Michigan would be wise to run the same thing and drop a couple lobs to Robinson and Hardaway when Syracuse wings are pulled up to try adjust to the 1-4. Burke will penetrate to the middle and dish. Michigan wins.

Hard to argue with Louisville after watching how they completely dismantled a really good Duke team in the second half.

Of course, that's the great thing about this tournament, every time you think you have it figured out, a FGCU happens, a La Salle happens, or a 2nd-place MVC team outclassing/outcoaching the Big 10 Tournament champion in the Elite 8 happens. Ya' never know.

My heart says Michigan cuz I'm a Big Ten homer.
My head says the finals will be Louisville vs Syracuse, with the Cards winning it all.

Big East teams tend to do better against Syracuse's zone as they play them at least once every year. Teams cannot replicate that zone in practice. No one has those long quick atheletes especially when its your second team trying to impersonate it.
