High school tourney television?

Everytime I look over a box score or see a game I'm thoroughly impressed by Sacar.

27 points in 27 mins.
10-15 from the field. (4 missed 3 pointers)
5 rebs & 3 assist.

Yeah I agree Sacar had a nice game but almost all his points were slashing lay-ups. Be interesting to see how good he will be at Marquette. I think he will be a solid player there, but not great or anything. As far as Jarvis goes do you kind of seem him as like a Al Nolen type? I feel like he's still way further along in regard to shooting compared to Nolen, but still has a long way to go

If he plays defense and penetrates like Nolen, I'll be be happy.

My guess is that Pitino looked at Anim and saw Joe Coleman. Strong kid who gets most of his action near the bucket. Anim looks to be a better shooter than Coleman and he plays hard like Joe did but he does get a lot of action off the ability of his teammates to find him on the break for layups- at least that's what happened today. He could be a great player- tough to figure at this point.

The comparison to AN is legit. He seems just as quick (that's saying something) a bit stronger/body that fits well for the Big Ten. He also has a second gear that when shown is impressive. Hopefully he works on shooting every day in the gym. Could be special especially on defense early in his career at the U.

Saint Paul Johnson & DLS in the 3A championship...That's the match up I wanted to see.

I'm rooting for Johnson, but DLS seems like they may be too much for the Governers.

Johnson is quick and athletic enough but DeLaSalle just has too much length on the floor it's so hard for teams to get a shot up

Great game and great atmosphere between Shakopee and Champlin Park. 1:15 left Shakopee hits a big 3 to go up 57-56. Champlin Park answers back with their own 3 to take a 59-57 lead 44 secs remaining. I've been very impressed with both Mitchell and John.

Champlin Park misses a couple free throws but it didn't hurt much as they got offensive rebounds on the misses and get the win 65-57.

It was a good game.

Is that 6'8" sophomore for Champlain going anywhere good?
He's got the build of a good player.

Only a Sophmore Ryan James says he will be a high major prospect and offers will start to flow this summer. If he can grow a couple more inches the kid could be something special

A bit stronger than Nolen? Nolen was absolutely ripped. If he is equal strength as a HIgh schooler that's awesome.

Jeez, Gary Trent has a sweet stroke from the outside. Tre and GT really work well together! Would be nice to see both of them together in the Maroon and Gold at some point down the line.

If his offensive game develops Theo John could be ranked in the top 50, very athletic with decent length, my guess is that he ends up at a blue blood before all is said and done.

Great game and great atmosphere is correct. That was a lot of fun. John does appear to have loads of potential and that follow dunk on the break was fun. I didn't really know about Mitchell before the tournament but see he scored a lot of points all year and certainly looks skilled. Anyone know his story?

The shooting is a little concerning. 2-6 from the line and not much other than layups for scoring. The kid is super smooth though and almost too unselfish- totally controls the half court tempo and moves the ball really well. I think he finished with 10 points. Team mates will love him. Has to cure the shot issue or they will play off him in the Big Ten. Mar- I really like - man he's going to be a force. Anim- really good player, he's just a good basketball player and it's a little harder to see exactly how he plugs in at the major college level. Might be great- not sure. He scored a ton off run outs in the second half- really plays hard and runs well. Swished a 3 later in the game.

2-6 from the line is a great concern, as is 0-2 from long range. Can't say I know his season averages for FT and 3PT, but I'm still so traumatized by the Gophers missing so many free throws that this feels like more of the same.

Meanwhile, Kalscheur with 12 points on 4-7 shooting, 1-1 from 3 and perfect 3-3 from the free throw line.

Theo John looks very impressive for a soph. Give him the next two years to improve his game and this kid could be nice college player. He's listed at 6'8" - maybe he'll add another inch or two.

He has some offers from smaller schools I believe like NDSU but I've seen a few people say the offers will probably start rolling in for him this summer.

I'm looking forward to DLS's championship match up against STP Johnson today. Should be fun to watch.

I'll pay close attention to Sacar, Mar, Jarvis.. but my sleeper is a Saint Paul kid named Andre Smith he's a junior at Johnson I think he's got some real potential.

Wow Jarvis just showed his athleticism on a nice block out of bounds on the 6-6 Johnson forward. About 8 minutes in he has a couple of turnovers and is 1-3 shooting all on penetration free throw line floaters. He has made a couple nice passes setting up his teammates as well when he has been double and triple teamed.

DeLaSalle leads 32-22 at half Jarvis 4 pts 2-7 fg 0-1 ft 3 to's 1 block and 2 assists(really should be at least 5 or 6). They were just interviewing someone with MSHSL and I was glad to hear him say the coaches have asked the rules committee to go to a shot clock so hopefully that happens.

Dave Lee and Richard Coffey are so horrible. Why do they keep bringing them back? Coffey sounds like Crackhead Bob. "It's harder to make a 20 ft. shot than it is to make a 15 ft. shot," he said. Really?

I would hope we will be able to recruit Theo John.

DeLaSalle wins their 4th straight championship 82-64. Jarvis finished with 9 pts 3-9 fg 3-7 ft(was long on all the misses) 4 to's 1 stl 1 block and 5 assists and at least another 5 where he would have got the 2nd assist if it was hockey. He could really get into the lane and penetrate anytime he wanted but just ran the team tonight and looked for others most of the game.

Cool picture of Jarvis and Pitino after his 4th title.

Wonder if Channel 45 made an attempt to get a quick interview with Pitino or Ben Johnson.

Theo John is a man. We're gonna offer him right? Like, before Bucky does?

Some serious talent on the floor in the big school championship.

Yes, Theo John is a player the Gophers need to try lock up. He reminds me of John Thomas. Gary Trent Jr. is also a kid that needs to be locked up. I can see Brock Bertam playing at a mid-major like Colorado State.

Tyus's little brother looks a lot like Tyus - for a 9th grader.

That is exactly what I thought watching him always so composed and in control. Really does a nice job creating for his teammates and hit some clutch free throws as well. Lots of young talent in that AAAA Championship could see these same 2 teams back in this same spot next year.
