High school football returns to Minnesota this fall

If everyone is in 5a nobody is in 6a
6a was created so teams like Owatonna and the Rochester’s could compete for state titles.

if the state high school league wants 32 teams, they should put in 32.

Neither here nor there, but watching Owatonna several times in person I have no doubt they could have competed for a 6A Title over the past 5 years. Tough for them to win the whole thing but, they would be good enough to reach the Semis.

Rochester being split into 4 schools, no chance.

There are only a handful of College teams that are on top every year. They should figure a system the spreads the talent out. Brainard and Moorehead play 5A schedules, but have 6A numbers. Brainard was in 6A, until TG moved up. I heard TG has like 700 students, there are 6A teams like Blaine that have over 200 guys out for football.
