I sort of like seeing the Minnesota kids that go there not do that well, although I did not mind watching some of the under the radar Minnesota (couple of big, not so skilled bangers under Ryan) kids make a positive impact there either. I'd like to see Reuvers be very wimpy, slow and not be so great there, at least for a year or two, and not be the next Kaminski. .
Having said all that, I wanted to see them win those final four games and was very impressed with what Bo Ryan did. I saw this Wisconsin team look like garbage in the late stages of the Big Ten season this year, and expected little from them Again Wisconsin proved me wrong and the performance of Nigel Hayes was Bobby Jackson like in mental and physical toughness. I was wrong about Nigel Hayes as well, what a great pressure player. Vito Brown redeemed himself, and the guards have nothing to be ashamed of. Wisconsin hired the right coach, which is exactly what I hoped would not happen there.
They deserved to win that game last night. Before the last sequence I commented that they needed to do whatever it took to keep the ball out of the hands of that lightning quick UF guard that the commentators kept referring to as "pesky". My assumption was that he would fly down the court, get into the lane, and get fouled in four seconds, then make both free throws. What he did instead was incredible and it was a highly exciting game, regardless who won.
