Little blurb discussing where games would be played should they start in January.

Where would it be played?

Presumably, teams would want to play on campus and in front of fans to help maximize revenue, if COVID-19 allows. That would point to a spring start because fans tend to avoid the bitter cold and not every venue is set up to operate in freezing temperatures.

The field at the Gophers’ TCF Bank Stadium is equipped with heating coils, a benefit from the Vikings spending the 2014 and ’15 NFL seasons in the venue.

A possible option the Big Ten could explore is holding multiple games per weekend at the three covered NFL stadiums in its footprint — U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Ford Field in Detroit and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Would not surprise me if they just threw this out with zero research.

It was a fact that heating elements were installed for the Vikings. What isn't known is if they're still physically there or if they're operational. Especially if it's a system that pumps warm water through, vs. something like the rings on an electric stove. It costs more than zero to maintain and operate such systems, either way. And the Vikings certainly aren't paying that cost anymore.

You don't need them for November football, so it would make perfect sense that the school didn't want to pay for them to keep working.

Either 2018 or 2019 the Coyles were removed and auctioned off. I own a small piece (8 foot long). I think once Fleck won @ Madison he was due a bonus and the Coyle auction covered it.

The Coyles were underneath the turf at TCF Bank Stadium for some pretty impressive wins over the past couple of years, and now it’s rumored that Notre Dame wants them. Possibly USC.

Edit: Misspelled Notre Dame as “Notre Damn.” I almost like that better.
