Hay is not in the barn….

Both have confirmed they’ll be back next year. I’m holding onto that until proven otherwise. I know the BB team had some departures after statements like Koi and DT’s, but that’s also a different situation and culture.

Until rosters are finalized it is tough to feel confident about anything these days roster wise. But I'm willing to take players at their word when they say they are coming back. Nothing is guaranteed but hopefully they are high character individuals who wouldn't say it unless they meant it.

That’s a good point we should all subscribe

Not guaranteed herherman back either

Or even fleck

Anyone could leave or get in a car accident at any moment

Everyone panic
There is no guarantee that any player currently on the Gopher team will return to play next season. US Constitution forbids involuntary servitude (except as a punishment for crime). Best evidence is what players say themselves—an honest indication of current intent. Keeping my fingers crossed until spring portal closes.

According to R.Burns Koi and Darius not guaranteed to come back. Ugg!
Under the current state of affairs in college football, our big cats, Koi and DT, are currently in the barn and simultaneously out of the barn. The barn belongs to a guy named Schrödinger. It’s complicated.

I heard some of the brass members of the band, at least 3 dance line and half the cheerleaders are out, transferring out. I also heard Fleck is talking to moving companies.......my cousins old neighbor.

Just repeating what I heard on Pair and a Spare
I listened too, but it sounded like the "hay is not in the barn" statement was referring to them not yet being signed to an agent to be able to rep this new app.

He started the segment by announcing that Koi and Darius would be back and that wasn't a surprise.

I could be wrong though.

There hasn't been much Hey made in the barn for years, but this is the football forum.

It doesn't sound like they are actually going anywhere, but theoretically do people get their money back from the players gofundme thing if the guy moves on?

From a practical / mental health standpoint fans should view these as "gifts" ... you gave it, it is theirs to do what they want.

If anyone giving wants some level of protections or the gift to work more like a contract and you personally don't want to get into the weeds of what that means .... give to Dinkytown Athletes.

I have no problem with the idea Taylor and perich could leave at any portal Window.

I just don’t know if it needs a thread because the same is true for every player in college football at every school.

I haven't listened to the pair and a spare but based on what I am reading here as well as the fact they actually announced they will be back (It would be really weird to announce your return and THEN not return in a portal situation at MN)... I'm going to declare that the hay is indeed in the barn. At least for 2025 and hopefully beyond.

I see your point but also felt a little inkling of uncertainty when at the same time they post asking fans to contribute to their NIL. Maybe it’s just the foreignness of the new approach to CFB but it does hint at some connection of their staying to how much money is raised. If there isn’t a big $ response then maybe they reconsider for the later portal window?

Here's the quote from Burns:

"It is good news that Koi and Darius have at least said publicly on social media that they plan on coming back. I would just say the hay is not in the barn yet as far as I've been told."

Listened to the podcast and this statement is in relation to the fact they haven’t signed their revenue sharing agreements.

in case you are one of the many people who no longer pay attention to the men's basketball program -

after last season, point guard Elijah Hawkins told reporters that he would return to MN for another season:
(quote) “I’m definitely coming back next year. In the offseason we have to grind it out — and we’ll have more experience next year.”

Two weeks later, he entered the transfer portal and is now playing at Texas Tech.

Of course the big difference there is that the experience Hawkins was referring to disintegrated down to next to nothing. But it was a bad look for him to make those comments and then jump ship.

I don't anticipate DT or Koi pulling something like that but until the rosters are locked in it is tough to count on anything roster related in college athletics right now with unrestricted free agency for all players at all times.
