Personal favorite. Ole don't care if we win or not, just that Streveler plays.
Sarcasm?
He had some nice runs against Iowa, he brings some juice to the O which we'll need if Cobb isn't playing.

Foster is the reason Cobb will be drafted. If a team wants him, they can't let him go to UFA status.
That's what a lot of people think, even on Gopherhole. It's not a knock on Cobb's production, but running backs like Cobb don't get drafted high. His speed is really going to hurt him. It doesn't mean he won't be a success though.Arian Foster who wasn't even drafted and he had similar speed problems. Somebody will take a flyer on him, but in today's NFL I bet Melvin Gordon doesn't even go until the 20s.
He is already listed as a projected 3-4th rounder and the #12 back on CBS and on Rotoworld is ranked the #7 back. Rotoworld doesn't list projected rounds but on CBS the #7 back is a projected 2nd rounder.
Agreed, so i Did some research.I would be floored if 7 running backs were taken in the first 2 rounds.
If I recall correctly, Kirkwood was a 1,000-yard back two years ago. Like pretty much everyone in the program, he's benefited from two years of working with our strength coach Eric Klein. Our offensive line is better than it was two years ago.Running backs just aren't worth as much in the NFL anymore. They don't last very long and aren't worth taking high in the draft. Especially this year when there are a lot of really good backs coming out. Its not a knock on cobb to say he won't go until the 4th or 5th round, it has more to do with how the running back is perceived in todays NFL.
Back to the subject at hand... I know Cobb really really really wants to play in this game but if he isn't healthy enough to go he just won't be as effective. I hope I'm wrong and Cobb is ready to go but I just don't see him recovering and playing well after just one week. Even if Cobb was 100% it wouldn't be unrealistic to say Leidner will have to play the game of his life for us to win this one.. or at least play as good as he did in the Iowa game. Thats going to be the key whether Cobb plays or not.

Mitch needs to play well, no doubt, but that's true for any game. I don't think he needs to have his best game for us to win, just needs to be the "good" Mitch, make some throws, some runs, and take care of the football. It's a nationally-ranked opponent on the road in a tough place to play. Lots of guys need to step up. I think anyone having "game of their lives" for us produces a win. But, the team playing well, defense tackling well, few penalties...pretty much hold to our script and we'll bring home the axe.
I agree, except I would lean on Nugget way more. 90/10 split if Cobb doesn't go.
