The last time the Gophers beat Michigan at home was 1977. I have seen the Gophers win Floyd and the Axe at home. The bell with Penn State at least for me does not count. It is too bad that this has been so one sided as it is a great trophy with a great story.

Go Gophers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was there in 2003. That's the closest I've ever been to the jug.

Of Big Ten schools, I've never seen the Gophers beat Michigan, Ohio State or Nebraska in person. I'll bet we don't have many who have seen the Gophers beat Nebraska - the last time was in 1960, and the last time here in town was in 1954.

I made the trek to Ann Arbor for the second year in a row in 2005. And it was glorious, never thought 100k could be so quiet.

I was only 1 the last time we won the Jug at home so needless to say I missed that one. Proud to say I was in attendance in 2005 for that one though. That was so awesome watching us playing for OT and then all of the sudden there goes Russell streaking down the sideline. Very cool moment. Not as cool as beating Penn State in 1999 but right up there for me at least.

Was there in 2005. It was a beautiful thing. Hope to see it again this weekend.

I have, but it was in Ann Arbor.

I was with Nate. It was awesome. They congratulated us on winning "their jug". ;)

Couldn't agree more. I'm always floored when people talk about their gameday atmosphere, can't hold a candle to OSU or NE (and I'm assuming PSU, but have not been there).

Yep....Great game Memorial. Mark Carlson was the QB. Freshman Marion Barber at HB. DT Steve Midboe had a heck of game. Chased Rick Leach the Michigan QB all over Memorial Stadium. I remember Gopher coach Cal Stoll saying the next morning on Sid's show that Midboe would've
chased Leach all the way to Stub/Herbs if he had too. I actually have the limited issue print of Memorial Stadium and it depicts the Michigan upset.

I just have a feeling that we will be fired up and Michigan is coming off of a letdown. I love this trophy.

Go Gophers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was at Memorial Stadium in '77 - the best defensive game I have ever seen the Gophers play...

Was there too and the year before. Michigan does not have this next week in the bag. I hate Michigan worse that Iowa and Wisconsin. This week is rival week for me. I would like to see Denard R meet Rasheed several times.

I was in Ann Arbor in 2005. When Gary Russell broke that run, I felt like I jumped about 20 feet in the air! Loved watching us grab the Jug and Maroney trying to plant the M flag at midfield.

My dad was at that game as well. He went with one of his law school buddies and still talks about how much fun that game was to see in person. Sadly, I was at home with my mom since I was barely a year old at the time. :p

'65, for Michigan - I was a student. My dad took me to the Nebraska game in '54, which we won.

I was there in '77. I was 14 y.o. I didn't appreciate the significance of the victory and looking back could not have imaged the dry spell that would follow.

Like a number folks on here, 2005 in Ann Arbor was the year. A bunch of buds of mine made the trip, and were rewarded with perhaps what was the last really meaningful win in the Mason Era. Unfortunately, I was unable to make the trip with them, and thus missed out on seeing the Jug reclaimed.

That 3rd and 10 Gary Russell run to the right that went for 60-some yards to set up the GW field goal was a play that will stick in my mind for life though.

2003 at the dome. What a night! Left to celebrate after the third quarter, never did hear the final score.

Ruppert, was at that game also. Sophmore at the U that year. Truely a great day in Gopher football history. A year later I met Barber and White and became friends with them. I worked at the Brick House( Big Ten now) and they loved playing pin ball.

Yes, I was in Ann Arbor and I have a pic of me holding the Jug in Glen Mason's office the week after the big win.

I was there in 2005. It was a great experience. I still cannot believe they had a "malfunctioning clock" after Russell broke that run. Seeing 403 yards(264 rushing) in lights on their scoreboard was pretty cool.

10-22-77, I was raking leaves with my dad, listening to Ray Christensen call the game on the radio. Midway through the first quarter, he said "hey, why don't we go to the game?" We got in the car & the rest is history. I was seven, but still remember vividly what a big deal it was.

Well, I'm going to claim twice in '65 and '67 since I went to every game at Memorial Stadium from 1964 to 1967. I really don't remember much in the way of details. We had some really tough defensive teams back then with guys like Aaron Brown, John Williams, Bob Stein, McKinley Boston etc. in the line and hard-nosed players like Bob Bruggers, Tom Sakal, and Tim Wheeler who would come up and really tackle. I think '65 was the year John Hankinson would hit Kenny Last on some really nice long passes over the middle but have no idea if one of those was in the Michigan game. Still can remember the players running across the field and jumping over the benches to grab the jug one of those years. Probably '65 because by '67 we were doing a tad more drinking which might have led to memory issues.

Damn, it would be sweet to see them storm the Michigan sideline again Saturday. We're way past due.

I was also at the '05 game. Best away-game experience I've had, by far.

I was at the 1986 game in Michigan as a member of the Marching Band. Michigan was ranked number 2 in the country at the time. I'll never forget Chip Lohmiller hitting the winning FG. What a game. Was just an awesome feeling dancing on their field after the game.
