Adam Kelly has accomplished something that I have never seen on this forum: Almost everyone here is passionately united against him. Just think of all the positives that could be acheived if that untiy and passion was channeled for something good.

It's probably too late now, but it might have helped the search if we had all been more supportive instead of whining about this or that. Every single email campaign has been negative - nothing supportive at all. And, it might have helped us get a good coach if we made it totally clear that we would give the new coach, whoever he might be, our full support instead of picking apart every candidate and threatening to withdraw our support if we don't get our guy.

Imagine what might happen if we used this forum to rally the fans, to come up with new ways to support the program, to change the atmosphere, to support the players, encourage donations, sell tickets, etc. We're in a cycle of failure, and as fans we can help break that cycle by supporting the program BEFORE it proves that it deserves it.

After the Illinois and Iowa victories, we were all proud of the team for not giving up, but most of us had given up on them. When the players said everyone had given up on them, that included US. We can be proud of them, but we certainly have nothing to be proud of. When they needed our support the most, we deserted them.

We can either bicker and whine, or we can be a force for good. With a new coach being named soon, perhaps it's time to seize the opportunity to do whatever we can to move this program forward.
