Grey wants to play QB in 2011

No offense Bayfield because you're not the only one who does this, but can our fans please start spelling his name correctly? It is with an A, not an E. Gray.

Nice to see his commitment to the U, he should be allowed to be QB, I cant wait to see him as our starter.

It's going to cause me no end of pain if the new coach comes in here, says Gray will play WR and Gray transfers without ever having had a meaningful run at QB.

He should be getting a run this year. I thought this was just a pratfall of Brewster's. Maybe my mind is just broken.

To me that says if I'm not QB I'm out of here...

Not sure if that's what he means.. But if that's the case, then I'd rather him bail now.

Don't want any zipper in the back gutless wonders on the team, TBO.

This team needs to get the ball in the hands of their best offensive players as much as possible.

There is no question that Gray is one of the best players not only on this offense but probably on the team. Obviously Gray at QB would result in the ball in being in his hands a lot more than at WR. This gives the gophers a better chance to win.

On the other hand, I don't think there should even be a QB battle unless Alipate shows up in spring ball and ultimately in the fall in much better shape than he is currently in. The shape he is currently in would make me, if I were a new coach, seriously question his dedication to the team.

I say play him at QB if he's willing to stick with us and that's what he wants.

If Alipate got into shape...............................

He'd still have an inaccurate arm.

I don't really see any reason he doesn't play QB next year. Alipate (from what Brewster said) obviously doesn't sound like he is ready to be a Big Ten starter. I doubt the Parish kid will be ready. Shortell may change his commitment and probably wouldn't be ready anyways. That leaves us with Gray and really no other options.

If not Gray who?

He will be QB next year no matter what.

Gray deserves at least one game at starting QB before the end of the year, to reward him for being the good soldier.

"I wouldn't go so far as to call the brother fat, I mean he got a weight problem. What's the nigg** gonna do? He's Samoan."
