Damn, sad to hear that. I actually remember him and his brother doing local sports in Chicago.

A really good talent on the early days of ESPN, pre-dating his CBS tenure.
 



RIP to one of the best.

For whatever reason seems hard to wrap my head around the fact that he was pushing 80 is now gone. Just seemed like one of those guys who would be around forever

My Dad turned 80 today and would still play 36 holes of golf every day if he could stand to be away from my Mom that long.

Time is a very funny thing as you get older. In my brain, I still envision my Dad as a 45-year old man and myself at 20 if that makes sense to anyone.

RIP, Mr. Gumble...one of the best.
