Minnesota has had some elite centers. Ben Hamilton, Schmitz, etc.
Eslinger is my favorite. He wasn't the biggest guy but he was the leader of the offensive line symphony.
At the Metrodome, I would find myself focusing on the offensive line play after play. The pulling guards, centers and tight ends was fun to watch.

I agree. One thing I wish the Gophers would do is embrace more history outside of the pre-1960s. Obviously the Gophers had some lean years in the 70s-00s but there are enough players to recognize.

I wish they would do something similar to the Vikings with the Ring of Honor. Can't tell me players like Eslinger, Hamilton, Darrell Thompson, MB3, Maroney, Decker, etc haven't done enough to have their name up in the stadium. I think it would help connect fans and alumni to the program.
