I've said it before and I'll say it again - Blount is the most thoughtful and balanced columnist in town:

From her column: He has trained and auditioned, but ex-Gophers QB Adam Weber still sees attitude and a fierce work ethic as his most NFL-ready asset.

Go Gophers!!

Bleed, I'll second your opinion of Rachel Blount...a first class talent. And this article is typical of her work...you really get to understand Adam and his situation.

Rachel Blount & Pat Borzi

Now that's a power sportswriting couple.

Thanks for posting this. I love the fact that anytime someone posts that "Adam Weber sucks", it gets pages of replies and views...and this has virtually none as a positive piece about him. I'd like nothing more than for him to get his chance in the NFL. He's dealt with a LOT here, and handled it all with class. Honestly - I don't think any of us know what Weber is really capable of. He had no consistency and no one really developing him here. I also like his realistic outlook - he's not one of these guys that thinks he's NFL bound for sure - he's just working his hardest to get a shot.

GL, Agree 100%. Reading so many of these anonymous bashers and their negative comments is when I think of my philosophy of life, that I developed as a very young man, thanks to my late Father: Giving everything you have in an attempt to achieve something difficult in life and not being successful in your goal is FAR more important than not trying to achieve something difficult in life and being successful at underachieving.

I admire and respect Adam Weber for his dedication and hard work to "try achieve something difficult in life" a hell of a lot more than than the underachieving bellyachers on the blogs.

Nadine, Not a chance  ...GL, You just don't know how much fun I can be when the time is right, yet you also don't know how serious I can be when the time is right.

BTW...a special THANK YOU to all of you in Admin at tGH (better than tOSU) for all of your input, links, advice, articles, interviews...I could go on and on.

Remember, I would really be happy if we all had a little love around here:

Picture me as Grandpa Elliot (only Caucasion): gray beard and all. (He has a great set of pipes)

I've seen a lot of kids wearing the Maroon & Gold that I admire a tremendous amount and I don't think I have seen any one of them wear the Maroon & Gold better, or prouder or more consistantly than Adam Weber.

Rachel is certainly my favorite sports writer at the Strib. She paints the picture of the person in her words with skill and also allows the person to present himself in his own words. Her interviews really DO work!

I hope he gets a shot somewhere. I especially hope he gets a shot with a team that has some stability. Let him learn and grow in the same system and get the proper tutelage he never received here. Do I see him being a Pro Bowler, no, but I could see him blossoming in the right situation. Good luck Adam and thank you for all you did here.
