Great collage of 9 straight bowl wins!

A team like Minnesota would be expected to hold a record like this because with a few clear exceptions, the best teams do not bowl against the likes of West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Bowling Green, Georgia Tech, New Mexico, Auburn, Central Michigan, and Washington State. It’s like winning the NIT, it’s not bad, but it’s nothing more than gaining recognition for mediocrity.

As I recall, we don't get to pick our bowl games. We have to play the teams they assign us. We have won those games. No reason to not be happy. I guarantee, if we were on a 9 game bowl losing streak, every one in the nation would make fun of us. We've beat p5 teams. I know it isn't the playoffs, that won't be until next year.

Sure, but there are teams like Minnesota that have played a litany of opponents as presented that do not have the same record.

I would take 2-7 in bowl games with ONE WEST title… beat somebody and in your bowl game you will play somebody..

I am not unhappy, I just see it for what it is. And I see us extending our streak to 10 next year against UNLV. I cannot not watch the Gophers and I always want them to win, but the CFP? I appreciate your optimism and I hope you are right. Happy New Year !

If you’re saying they’re expected to beat all those teams then you can’t say the Gophers are mediocre.

Certainly beating Auburn counts above all else in the point being made.

The Billds collected firsthand evidence that Auburn fans did not believe we belonged in the same parking lot, let alone on the field, or heaven-forbid winning. The rest of college football certainly gave the Tigers or War Eagles or whatever they are that thought too.

Delicious was that one.

That Auburn team lost 23-20 to Joe Burrow LSU team considered one of the all time greats. They had a top 10 pick in Deririck Brown play in the game where we had an opt out. 11 wins against a very good team is nothing to sneeze at. Bowling Green, Central Michigan sure. Even this New Mexico team had 9 wins and played well against power 4 schools.
