Does anybody else have this problem?

Whenever Gophersports.com has a "splash" page to enter the site, trying to sell tickets or proclaiming a Big Ten Championship in a non-revenue sport, I cannot enter the regular home page.

They're trying to sell hockey tickets for Friday, so I am having that problem currently.

Now I know how to get past it using Google, but still, it's pretty amateur.

There's a big link named "CLICK HERE TO ENTER GOPHER SPORTS" above the words Border Battle that works just fine for me.

Ahh, doesn't work for me on Chrome or Internet Explorer, and hasn't in months when they've done splash pages.

Works for me it is probably just operator error on your part.

I have experienced this issue from time to time in Firefox. It hangs for a second and auto-directs me to the main page even if I had just clicked on Men's Basketball or whatever.

Nate,

You might check and see if you've got the latest upgrade for FlashPlayer. I've generally run into this kind of problem as a result of older versions of Flash running with my browser.

But I can get access to the page thru Chrome, IE and Firefox.

as usual i think it is just "you". i had also heard that there is "smart-a$$ jerk" detector software that they use, so that is probably you main issue. :)

I looked at the HTML source for the gophersports.com splash page. The page is using HTML <area> tags inside of a <map> tag. For those who aren't familiar with the HTML in web site pages, the map and area tags allow you to define areas on an image that are clickable. NateDogUM, I guess its possible you are using an older browser that might not support area and map tags, but it looks like IE has supported those tags since IE4. And Google Chrome definitely supports those tags. The other possibility is you might have cookie or javascript settings that are causing your problem

Turn Off Firewall

I have the exact same problem. If I turn off my firewall I can get past the first screen otherwise it keeps kicking me back to the same screen. Very annoying. It may be a cookie thing - I also have to turn off my firewall at amazon.com - keep getting the message you must set your computer to enable cookies - when they are enabled.

Wow - that's not necessary. A posters asks about a computer gliche and you call him names? Not cool.
