Gophers, New Mexico State On BTN2Go
Fans encouraged to secure access to BTN2Go prior to Saturday

Sep 4, 2013

The Minnesota Golden Gophers will take on the New Mexico State Aggies at 7 p.m. (CDT) on Saturday, Sept. 7, in Las Cruces, N.M.

The game will not be shown live on television in the Twin Cities. Gopher fans who want to watch Minnesota face the Aggies live will be able to do so on BTN2Go, which is an app run by the Big Ten Network. Prior to Saturday, fans are strongly encouraged to make sure they are able to access BTN2Go on their mobile devices or home computer by following the instructions located here: http://www.btn2go.com/btn2go/FAQ.jsp

The game will also be broadcast locally on tape delay twice on Fox Sports North. The first tape delay airing is at 10 a.m. (CDT) Sunday, Sept. 8, while the second is at 2 p.m. (CDT) on Monday, Sept. 9.

Fans can also listen to the game on KFAN-FM and KTCN-AM. It can also be listened to live for free on GopherSports.com.

Additional broadcast information.

The game is being produced by AggieVision and can be seen live on:

FoxSports Arizona PLUS (Channel 695 on DirecTV)
Altitude 2 (Channel 682 on DirecTV)
Comcast systems throughout the state of New Mexico
BTN2Go (download the free app at iTunes or Google Play)

And I mistakenly thought this thread would be about the U actually addressing the issue. My bad.

What would you like the U to do about it? Home teams own the TV rights. The U doesn't have much of a choice. They can't force a local channel to pick up the game. That decision is made by the channel. If you want to complain about college football TV contracts then I would agree with you, but the U's hands are tied in this circumstance.

I just tried following the link from Gophersports. I have Xfinity/Comcast.

This is cool, it works! You can watch four games simultaneously in HD!

Extremely lame. Think deeper.

Have all away NC games not been televised?........think deeper.

Don't think about solutions.....just throw up your arms............

Just get it done.......IT CAN BE DONE........

Do you get BTN at home through cable or satellite? If so, just go to this website and try to watch a game right now. It'll ask you to sign in through your cable or satellite provider.

And if your provider doesn't offer it? "Fans encouraged to secure access to BTN2Go prior to Saturday" is absurd when it's a service with no subscription package available to consumers.

An apology and admitting they screwed up would be a good start.

Why do they keep saying it won't be on live television when it's available live on satellite?

For scheduling the game? Teague didn't have much of a choice after Kill requested to cancel the UNC series. Teague was just trying to make his coach happy. If you're upset about cancelling the UNC series, well, that has been discussed plenty already and the U has explained their reasoning for it.

As someone with first hand experience with this (even having been personally chewed out by someone because of a Gopher broadcast in the past), there is absolutely nothing the U can do about this. The university has nothing to do with the TV contracts, the conference sets them up and as jaymil pointed out, the U can't force TV stations to pick up the broadcast. I can certainly understand being frustrated by the situation but your anger is extremely misplaced.

Why? You are assuming my anger is just at the U. The Big Ten and BTN are just as much to blame and I was not leaving them out.

If BTN offered Aggievision $200 million would it be on local TV? The answer is yes......it's a matter of price.

That's part of the frustration. "The U makes as announcement".........yea right-you can get it online. Why does the U or BTN never address the main issue publicly? It's as if they think if they say nothing no one will notice.

That's exactly my point, there is no reason for the U to share the blame with BTN and the Big Ten. As I said, there is nothing the U can do about it. Just because you think or want them to be able to solve the problem doesn't mean they can. Like I said, I get the frustration (especially since I'm having trouble accessing btn2go right now) but there isn't a single thing the U can do about it. The university has no control over the TV situation.

Well, I was watching games on BTN2Go, but it appears to be down at the moment. Anyone else having a problem with the site?

Is anyone else all of a sudden having problems with BTN2Go?
I set it up and was watching games on it and it suddenly stopped showing the games and won't let me log back in.
Aargh!

Yes. I am having the same issue right now. I have used BTN2GO before without issue.

Nevermind... I guess I'm not the only one.

Yes! Same thing. BTN is down. It just takes you to the provider screen but doesn't list any providers! It is down! It will be pretty sad if it stays down.

The good news is I tuned to DTV 695-1 and it is showing the Clemson game. I should be good-to-go for Gophers as their game airs later on the same channel.

Having the same problem here.

I know I have a strange sense of humor, but if 2go stays down through the Gopher game.....it will be hilarious. AKA a comedy of errors.

That would make the situation 100% worse.....oh boy, I can just imagine.....

I just emailed them, but it will probably just be read by some lackey on Monday morning.

After reading all posts, it is obvious that it is a conspiracy to piss everyone off without saying "Have a good day".
