BTN today(Monday) 1 PM...Central time..
For those that are interested.

I set my DVR earlier this weekend. Can't wait for the games to be on TV so I don't have to watch having already seen the score and post game analysis.

Thanks 19. I think I'll tune in for a while to see if the Gophers play better when they look better. (I watched a crappy on line broadcast.) I have years of experience tuning out my wife while she sat beside me and talked to her friends, so I can pretty much tune out the awful announcers.

One would think the BTN would at least expect their announcers to: 1. talk about the game in front of them, 2. quit being such incredible homers, and 3. do some homework and talk about the other team a little bit.

I don't think these are "BTN announcers," they are just local fill-in guys for the exhibition and early games. Also, BTN announcers will ALWAYS be homers in the non-conference, there is absolutely no reason not to be. 99% of the people tuning in are fans of the Big Ten team, so by being "homers" they are playing to their audience.

I watched the replay of the Mankato game and I believe Quincy Lewis was doing some color. The rest of the crew(pbp and sideline) are U students I believe.

Anyone know when tonight's game is going to be replayed on BTN? I am going to see The Boss (booked it before our schedule came out).

That whole StudentU thing is always the University's local people doing the game. We have Matt Nelson (I think that's his name?) and Quincy Lewis doing our b-ball games. So yes, they will be extremely homerish towards the home team (as they should), and they will probably also go into far more depth about the team than the regular BTN announcers would.

From the StudentU site on BTN:

Big Ten Student U programming consists of student-produced events that originally stream live on the Big Ten Digital Network (many also air on BTN on delay). The Big Ten Network has equipped each Big Ten school with a custom-engineered mobile high-definition flypack that allows Big Ten students interested in a career in sports television to get real-world production experience using state-of-the-art equipment.

GL, I have hereby cancelled our scheduled "appointment" for tonight so you can go to The Barn. :)

The StudentU team (mostly the play by play kid) has gotten better every year. Not saying the presentation is great, but it is much better than it was a few years ago. Only critique of the play by play kid is that he uses the word "corral" way too much.
