Gophers Signing Day 2015: Four Early Enrolees Get Jump Start in Minnesota's Program

The Minnesota Golden Gophers got an early jump on their 2015 recruiting class by landing four players in December, who have already enrolled in school.
The Gophers have had good success with early add-ons like Mitch Leidner and Marcus Jones.
Charlie "Ace" Rogers, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound defensive back from Iowa Western (IA) CC, is expected to step in early for Minnesota with the graduation losses of defensive backs Cedric Thompson and Derrick Wells. Rogers helped lead Iowa Western to a #2 ranking in the NJCAA, losing to national champion East Mississippi 34-17 in the title game.
Rogers, who is from Iowa City, Iowa, started his college career at Iowa State, where he redshirted in 2012 as a freshman and played in seven games in 2013. He had 18 tackles, made one interception and was named Academic All-Big 12 Second Team in 2013 before transferring to Iowa Western this past season.
Rogers finished with 73 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, four pass breakups and made two interceptions and was named a First Team NJCAA All-American.
Rogers also had scholarship offers from Georgia State, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana. Miami of Ohio, New Mexico, North Texas, Ohio, Old Dominion, South Alabama, Toledo and Utah State.
Twins Jacob Huff and Julian Huff helped lead Bolingbrook (IL) High School to an 8-4 record and a 5-2 mark in conference play. Julian is a 5-foot-11, 223-pound linebacker, who was named First Team All-State. Jacob, a 5-foot-10, 205-pound defensive back, was an honorable mention selection.
Their older brother, Jaden Huff, a 5-foot-9, 190-pound freshman running back at Sat. Cloud, also graduated early and the move paid off as he became a starter late this season and finished with 69 carries for 319 yards and four touchdowns.
Tyler Moore, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound center from Galena Park (TX) North Shore, picked Minnesota over BYU and Texas. The homestate school had made a late pitch hoping to get him to sign with the Longhorns on national signing day, but Moore, who had planned to graduate early for over a year, picked the Gophers instead.
Moore helped North Shore High School to an 8-5 record and a 5-1 mark in district play. Moore was a finalist for the Touchdown Club of Houston Offensive Player of the Year.
