12th is totally unacceptable. Great coaches do not finish 12th ever !

Painter did two years ago
The only guys on the roster who have proven they are capable of a good scoring night versus Big Ten competition are Mason, King and Morris. To think any of those three are not going to play significant minutes, if healthy, is pure folly. We didn't recruit a shooter or a scorer, so the points gotta come from somewhere. Murphy, Dorsey, and McBrayer can maybe score. If they are capable we will be competitive. If at least two of those three can't score it'll be a long season. Dorsey compares himself to Russell Westbrook...if he can play well enough for any of us to see the resemblance...then couple things...most on here won't like him because he's too selfish....and we'll be good.
Morris got his points by going 7-21 with one assist and four turnovers. (Yes, there were one or two outlier games, but those numbers were the basic profile.) He killed what little ball movement they had and appeared to be the most selfish gopher since Kris Humphries. If he averages more than high teens in minutes it means that the coaches have gotten him to radically change his game or that the young wings aren't showing enough promise to make growing pains worthwhile.
most people would not consider Painter,Clem or Dutcher great coaches. I would hope the Gophers are aiming higher than that.
Tony Bennett was national coach of the year at Wash. St. of all places and his UVA teams have won the last two ACC titles. Every AD would have him at or near the top of their home run hire. If anyone at Minnesota won the Big10 back to back they would build a statue for them. Additionally even better days ahead for UVA as his 2016 class will be a top 5 class. no one would hire Painter over Bennett. Minnesota should hope to aim for conference championships. UW did it and so can Minnesota.
