Go Gophers!!

Well deserved! They both had great games, really glad Peter Mortell is getting some love. He's an unsung hero that's having a fantastic season. Without him, our defense would have a lot tougher job. He's been essential!

I've seen maybe 2 bad punts this year. One in the UNLV game that was short, and one from inside the 50 that was too low and rolled into the end zone.

Amazing to me is that during the Game Day Thread some "experts" were complaining about Mortell and his lousy punting. :banghead:

CBSSports.com National Players of the Week (Nov. 4)

Specialist of the Week: Minnesota punter Peter Mortell

There were several impressive performances by place-kickers in Week 10, but many of them -- like USF kicker Marvin Kloss hitting from 39, 49 and 50 yards in an 11-point game -- came in a losing effort. That was not the case for Minnesota punter Peter Mortell, who averaged 43 yards per punt on five attempts and pinned Indiana inside the 20-yard line twice in the second half of the Golden Gophers 42-39 road win.
