It's down to 13.5 right now and this will probably drop. Rutgers is well coached and they have had a pulse, beating Indiana which was a good win for them. The Gophers are due for a big win -- but until and unless they make adjustments offensively especially on getting their receivers open they should not be favored by 2 TD's against anyone.

I was thinking the line should be about 6.5 -- anything more than a TD right now for this team may be asking for too much. Of special note -- Vegas has not even been close on the spreads the last 3 weeks for the Gophers losses and I do not think they have adjusted that line enough. I think they think the Gophers will rebound strong here but I am not so sure. I see them winning a close game by a TD or less and yes -- they could lose this game outright if they do not get their offense figured out.

I actually think this is about right. We have had our struggles, but Rutgers is awful.

As has been pointed out, Vegas isn't trying to predict the score, they are just setting the lines at a point where they think it will draw in equal action from both sides. I agree that this spread feels too high from an actual on the field standpoint and will almost certainly adjust down but they must feel there are still believers in Minnesota out there that will take the Gophers even at that high of a spread.

I'd take Rutgers +14.5 (FanDuel has it -118, not too expensive to get the hook with that number)

Until the Gophers prove otherwise, how can you trust them when they're listed as double digit favorites?

Oh, you don't need to teach me anything about Vegas and pointspreads!! lol. I have been around the block a few times on that one. This line is way too high! I would hammer this one for another 500.00 but the Gophers REALLY need this one bad - they will pull out all the stops to save their season. Plus, it is at home, Morgan could start and if they do make the adjustments they need to get their receivers off the line and into the clear they COULD hammer Rutgers. This isn't like last week where they had zero chance of covering that spread.....

At this point, I give the Gophers about 30 per cent chance of covering -13.5, maybe 20 per cent if you get that at -14.5. They also have a very realistic chance of losing the game outright and if they do their season is in big trouble. That is why it is such a big game for them.
