That's stupid. Maybe RobD Lewis still wants to come here.
It was always just a matter of when with this guy. To me, it seemed he clearly committed because he had no better offers and wanted to hold his place. No big loss.
I should have expanded my comments more, but I got the same impression from his statements when he commited last summer. I think some guys commit to somewhere just to slow down the mailman a bit. It puts them a bit more in control of their recruitment.
Robdonovan Lewis or Brock Vereen are comparable players so one may end up here in Antoine Lewis' spot.
I think some of these guys committ early to increase it. Those that aren't getting all that much interest, committ to the first school to offer. Other schools on the fence notice, and begin to wonder "do we need to take a closer look at this guy?"
A prime example is the kid from Wisconsin (Zagrebski (sp?)?). MN offers, he accepts, and almost immediately thereafter WI offers and he decommits.
Lots of gamesmanship involved.
