Lol. Are we really going to freak out and analyze these two half way through the first season?
I hate the son angle. If I were a recruit my first questions would be. Do you think you would have a job if your dad was not coach?
this surprises you why?
It's fun to look back. Certainly I've been wrong before and maybe less definitive statements would do everyone better. Makes me look silly at times and probably others in this thread as well. Open mind can be a good thing
You already posted about Collins in the game thread. Everyone knows you're a Duke fan. Good for you. You know Gopher fans on the board are pissed because the Gophers lost and this puts a serious crimp in the tourney hopes, but you had to dig up a thread buried for almost a year because it's fun to look back? Your timing gives you away.
It's topical

You mean typical, as in typical Duke fan making everything about Duke...it's like you guys think you invented the game. And if we wanted an offense that stood around for 30 seconds, has trouble inbounding the ball against the press and a team primarily made up of slow guys that can't dribble we would have held on to Tubby.
Huh? Are you talking about Collins? Seems to me he's playing to his team's strengths and weaknesses. The systems he's been exposed to don't play that style. I tend to prefer coaches that have the ability to adapt to their personal, especially their first year as a coach. Maybe that's just me. Also, most, if not all Duke fans acknowledge that James Naismith invented the game. Not sure where you are going with that one.
Someone bring back the ISU fans, this guy might be worse.
Can I answer that one for Saul?

This is an interesting take. Do we know what's Teague's balance of academics and basketball will be? This is so opposite of Maturi, Teague really left the door open to any hire. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.
After watching the last few weeks and seeing the emergence of Nebraska and Northwestern....I'm wondering just how tough this league is going to be in the coming years with potentially two less sub-par teams to get three or four wins against. Could be brutal if this is the trend for these two teams and not just a blip on the radar. I like what Collins is doing.
Going back to 2000 the Gophers record vs N'western is now 16-14 & vs Nebraska is 6-4. Combined they have lost 3 in a row to those teams.

It seems like we lose a game to Northwestern every year, so those stats don't surprise me at all.
solid road win tonight over a coach that has energized his program.
