We are playing well though, when we aren't playing great teams. I agree and admit that Iowa doesn't quite fall into that category .. that was the worst one, of the four losses, in a sense.

Strongly disagree about playing well. Granted, it was a very nice drive to force OT against Michigan State. But they and Purdue are both winless in conference play, and both those games were nailbiters.

Rutgers was not a great win either.

Mich turned it over 5 times yesterday and won on a walk off FG. A&M was down 4 scores at half to 3-6 South Carolina and won by a point. GT walked off 1 win Boston College. I’d rather MN not be squeaking out those wins…but it’s better than losing and nothing unusual in CFB these days.

EDIT to say MN is not a great team. Let it be known I believe they’d get destroyed by A&M, thoroughly beaten by GT, and lose (probably close) to Michigan. I’m just saying superior teams often play (and win) close games against “bad” teams.

And your job is NOT to “look for the positives”. Your job is to put together a football team that can compete for a Big 10 Championship, and the further we’ve gotten from “year 0” and the recruits you inherited from Fleck, the further your teams have fallen in mediocrity.
