MIAMI (OH): 109 yds passing, 169 yds rushing VS #8 Cincinnati

@ Colorado: 102 yds passing, 281 yds rushing VS Northern Colorado

BOWLING GREEN: 187 yds passing, 32 yds rushing VS Tennessee

@ Pudue: 313 yds passing, 88 yds rushing VS Oregon State

---- off week

NEBRASKA: 232 yds passing, 160 yds rushing VS Illinois (I refuse to count Fordham as a real opponent)

MARYLAND: 332 yds passing, 163 yds rushing VS West Virginia

@Northwestern: 275 yds passing, 117 yds rushing VS Michigan State

ILLINOIS: 266 yds passing, 146 yds rushing VS UTSA

@ Iowa: 145 yds passing, 158 yds rushing VS Indiana

@ Indiana: 156 yds passing, 77 yds rushing VS Iowa

WISCONSIN: 185 yds passing, 174 yds rushing VS Penn State

------------------------

I don't see any opponent whose offense is remotely as good as Ohio State. Maybe Maryland is one to be wary of. Overall, I would expect our defense to hold up fairly well.

Iowa and Wisconsin scare me a bit because of their respective defenses.

Purdue on the road isn’t easy. Colorado should be easy but playing in the mountains is strange.

But I too agree the gophers have a very good chance in every game. I dont think they win every game.

I expect 9-3.

I would be disappointed if it isn’t at least 8.

I would be shocked if they win 12 games…but not if they win 11.

Yeah, there are not a lot of explosive offenses left on our schedule. And the ones that can be a little explosive (Maryland, Pudue) pair that offense with a crappy defense that will give up a ton of yards and points as well.

D will have to play better but they won't be tested the way they were against Ohio State the rest of the way. Nobody left on our schedule brings that level of offensive talent to the table.

Defense needs to be a whole lot better to win 8 games.
Defense will be a whole lot better. In 2019 we barely beat South Dakota State in the opener, beat Fresno in OT, and beat Georgia Southern by three points. Then we improved, a lot.

What's your prediction, leftyslefty:

1) The OVER (Gophers win 8 games or more)

2) The UNDER (Gophers win fewer than 8 games).

I'm picking #1, the OVER. How about you?

I know you're not asking me but I have 8-4.

Northern Colorado is worse in FCS than Fordham is.

Northern Colorado has been reeling off 2-3 win seasons for several years now, before they became Team McCaffrey. Maybe that clan can turn them around, but they are a total bottom feeder FCS program.

Colorado only being up 21-7 on them after 3Q is a bad sign for them.

I agree. But if our back 4 remains vulnerable to high-powered, multi-faceted passing attacks (and our pass rush remains simply a concept that cannot morph into reality), I think we are quite vulnerable against both Maryland and Purdue. Teams that we should beat if we can keep their passing attacks under some semblance of control.

They don’t have OSU’s passing attack though. Historically is the run offenses that have gave us the most trouble.

Depends if we can knock out Plummer and Bell on the same play
