(On Rodney) We all have faith in him, we weren't surprised they he came out the way he did.

There is some relief, we need to win more though, we will celebrate and get ready for Iowa.

(On his wrist) It ls good, it wasn't bothering me at all.

(On the accusations that he faked his wrist injury to not take the FT's at WI) Nobody watched the NU game if they thought that. Before the game, I took a pain pill that helped. They are going to say that, but it's not true.

Austin Hollins

(On the WI game) It was one of those nights, I just couldn't get anything to fall.

(The differnence in today's game) We're having a lot more fun, playing smarter, playing up tempo basketball.

(On if it hurts to have teams slow it down) That hurts everybody. That's what we practice.

(Anything different as far as practice prep) Nothing different, we've been trying to stay positive, and checked out the scouting report today.

Rodney Williams

After IU loss, we knew we gave it away. Anyway to get a win was good.

(on losing streak) Last year, it got as bad as 11 games, so got us to stop this skid now is really good

(On if he wanted to come out) You always want to stay in the game, but coach wants to keep guys fresh.

You want to stay in when you have focus.

(On his favorite dunks) The ones that go I'm! That's a good one for me.

I like to dunk on that end (across from the student section), my Dads over there, so someday Ge could get a ball...but he may not give that back

I don't care about a career high, as long as we win.

It's fun to see those guys get in, they practice just as hard and play with us everyday. (on the bench getting playing time)

(Post WI loss) After the game, Coach Ryan came up and said that was a tough position for me to be in (taking those last free throws), I've been working on my ft's a lot since then.

That was definitely a wake up call for me, for that to go wrong, it really hurt.

(On whether or not that FT made him come out on fire) I definitely think so, missing that ft, it really hurt, I didn't want to let my teammates down again.

(On emotionally how much this helps) Real big for me, coming off a skid of games

Tubby Smith:

• We had a good game plan tonight, we made some shots, were able to press.
• Rodney coming out focused, always sets a good lead for our team. He was very active and engaged. We made some adjustments to get him the ball early in the game, and it worked. We played pretty good tonight.
• I thought defensively tonight, we played a lot smarter, you play without fouling, you teach that everyday. I don't tell anyone to foul, ever, except when we tell them to foul.
• We play some pretty good teams in this lead, we don't have great shot blockers, we're playing with a 6'8" center in Trevor. I think we do a great job of overcoming some things. We do things we have to do to improve, tonight, the guys came together. Our Psyche had been shaken pretty bad, I thought we shot ourselves in the foot with every loss we've had. We did a good job of taking care of the basketball, we didn't do a good job of defending the 3.
• Rodney didn't really have to muscle him, because he didn't have to, it was a freshman. Rodney did a good job, and he's capable of doing that all the time, that's my expectation of Rodney.
• When you turn over 17 times, and shoot 29%, you can't press. I'm telling the facts, as a coach, of why we can't press or why we didn't press in our losses. We didn't get people to foul us, to stop it and get in our press. Today we had the chance to go up against a team that's willing to run. I'm not naive to think we could do that against WI or MI, they're great teams, nothing against Nebraska, just not the same match-up.
• You always need games where guys feel good about themselves, we've had a lot of negative and garbage the last 2 weeks. Garbage in and garbage out.
• We'll still run our stuff, it depends on the competition, everyone scouts everyone else. We wanted to guard the 3, but Ray was just outstanding. He was just outstanding.

Also some stats that I had tweeted out:

Tubby Smith is 54-4 when the #Gophers are shooting at least 50%. Minnesota shot 54.2% today.

The #Gophers are averaging 14.4 turnovers a game, tonight they had 6. Huge difference maker.

Another good stat: 44 pts, 16 FGM at Wisconsin. 44 pts, 16 FGM in first half vs Huskers. #Progress #Gophers

And this one was tweeted to me: @jstmane: @NadineBabu another good one, 24 assists on 32 made field goals!

Wasn't it Lionel Hollins who said last year that he thought most college games were almost unwatchable because of the pace? I can only image what he thinks of Wisconsin this year.

I love how Tubby said we don't have great shot blockers despite the fact we are leading the conference in blocked shots. I think we've led the conference in blocked shots just about ever year he's been here.

Thanks Nadine...awesome as always!:)

Yogi could not have said this better:

"I don't tell anyone to foul, ever, except when we tell them to foul."

Tubby sounded pretty contrite during the post-game show. It was refreshing.

I had thought about editing that, but it was his actual words. Tubby is a very stream of conciousness guy...he obviously meant when needing to stop the clock, etc., but this is what he said! Raw, Tubby :)

He was actually a little snippy at the post game presser. Got a little defensive, when no one really had tough q's for him.
