With the conclusion of the 2015 season, Eric Decker now leads all Gopher alums in catches, receiving yards and touchdowns as a pro. Who is now in 2nd place in catches and receiving yards? Hint- His NFL success was somewhat surprising in view of how he was used in Warmath's run-heavy offenses. Who is now in 2nd place in touchdowns? Hint- This Iron Ranger played on Warmath's first team in 1954.
Tramaine Brock now has 10 NFL interceptions. Who are the 3 former Gophers who have more? Hint- one is in both the College and NFL Halls of Fame. Another was a Native American from Austin who helped Sammy Baugh's Redskins win 2 NFL titles during WWII. The third played 2 seasons with the Vikings and his last appearance was in the infamous Drew Pearson push-off game.

Fun... nice job Nomelini! I knew the fifth one for sure. I had number one's face, knew he played for the Lions but that took me awhile.. ha. No clue on 2,3,4. No idea Bobby Bell had that many interceptions in the NFL. Pretty impressive list of former Gophers. Eric Decker is top of mind and impressive. Tramaine Brock gets forgotten by me. Thanks Nomelini!

Couple lists of current Gophers in the Pros. Most are starting as well.

Cappelletti was the only one I knew of the top of my head. Great story in that he took a circuitous route to the old AFL and really shone in the early days of that league. I'm old and remember when due to roster size, there were no kicking specialists. Cappelletti played WR and did the place-kicking for the Patriots. I still have a couple of his football cards.

If you’re saying that Jeff Wright played 2 seasons with the Vikings, that is wrong. He played 7.

I was golfing with him a little while ago, and he told me about going to the doctor a few years after his NFL career ended, and the doctor asked him how long ago did he break his back, and Jeff said ”I broke my back”?

Great guy, great family. His daughter married one of my best friends.

Jeff Wright, 3 Super Bowls with the Vikings but, before that he was one of Minnesota's legendary high school athletes at Edina. 3 state titles in basketball and one loss in three years. Solid player all around in basketball. Obviously, special in football, too. Did he play baseball?
Basketball titles

Yes he did, and I think he was all state.

Was voted as the best athlete to ever come out of Edina.

Legendary party house as well.
