Gophers 2025-26 non-con schedule news

The best I've gathered, so far there are 13 known Big Ten commitments to 2025 MTEs (multi-team events). Only Illinois, Maryland, Ohio State, Penn State, and UCLA are TBD, if at all. Maryland is rumored to be joining the Players Era Festival shindig, but not yet official.

Acrisure Series (3): Iowa, Minnesota, Washington

Baha Mar Bahamas: Purdue

Chicago MTE (name unknown): Indiana

Fort Myers Tip-Off: Michigan State

Greenbrier Tip-Off: Northwestern

Hall of Fame Classic: Nebraska

Maui Invitational: USC

Players Era Festival (3): Michigan, Oregon, Rutgers

Rady Children's Invitational: Wisconsin

I don’t think Illinois will play in one. Underwood prefers the single game high profile matchups. Pretty sure they are playing Tennessee and Alabama again. Expect a couple more.

Kentucky's non conference schedule...just a template.
I believe the schedule comes first....then you attract better players and then your team gets better.
Kentucky above, Michigan St, North Carolina, St Johns, many of the teams who expect to be Sweet 16 teams at seasons end as a minimum aspiration schedule like this.
Would love Niko to at least play a couple powers in the non conference to get us moving in that direction. And it helps come bid time...see North Carolina last year.

Doug Gottlieb's Green Bay squad will play the Gophers Nov. 15 at Williams Arena, per Alex Rosinski (@WiscyBusiness) on X.
I think that's a good addition. It's early...so anticipating higher rated opponents to follow spliced in. I don't know how good but I think they will be quite a bit better in the coming year and it is a neighboring state. Could see it as a future game that brings some following ticket wise eventually.
Create some buzz...LeBron will be a Gopher fan for an evening.

Does LeFlop have beef with Gotlieb or what?

Ya, Gottlieb said something on the radio LeBron didn't like. I believe it was Bronny wouldn't even be the best player on WGB....let alone an NBA Draft Pick. LeBron made regular posted fun of lots of the losses. Something along those lines.

So if I have it correct, our 3 known opponents so far finished 306, 325 and 332 in KenPom? Hoping we get good opponents in the MTE we are in.

So those two games are potentially the opener and winter break. I'm okay with that.

With UWGB on the schedule, I hope that's it for cupcakes.

Will we play at Mizzou this year?
The philosophy I'm always advocating is a strong non conference schedule to simulate and grow for the conference season.
Got to thinking, I could maybe make an exception in year one of a new coach because you don't want to go 6 and 5 to start either, if calamity strikes?
But, by the same token if you play crappy teams and win nobody respects that either.
So, I think I convinced myself the right thing to do is definitely to make it more difficult then it has been under Bem at minimum.

I’d take Loyola or UNI in that scenario in a heartbeat. We’re not getting a Power 5 for sure.
