Seth Green, a Class of 2016 6-2, 190-pound quarterback from East Ridge, received a scholarship offer from Minnesota in June after a strong showing at the Golden Gopher football camp. He followed up the Gophers offer with an offer from Louisville. Green attended the Gophers-Iowa game earlier this seaosn.
Gopher Hole recently caught up with Green to learn more about his sophomore season and early recruitment.
Gopher Hole: How about your recruitment? Where do things stand on that right now? Do you have two offers right now?
Seth Green: Three. (Toledo, Louisville and Minnesota).
Gopher Hole: What schools are you hearing from right now?
Seth Green: Not many during the season. I am trying to focus on the season more.
Gopher Hole: Any plans to go to anything the next couple of weeks?
Seth Green: No, not that I know of. We'll see.
Gopher Hole: What are you hearing from the Gophers? What are they saying to you?
Seth Green: They are really, really showing me love and I appreciate that from them. It is a warm welcome.
Gopher Hole: It is so early being only a sophomore, but have you thought much about what camps you would like to attend next summer?
Seth Green: No. I try to save that for after the season.
Gopher Hole: I know the East Ridge basketball team is expected to be pretty goods this year? What are the expectations for the hoops squad?
Seth Green: I feel that the only way we can not do good is if we let the hype get to our head and if we don't prepare and play like we should.
Gopher Hole: What things are you continuing to work on to improve yourself as a quarterback?
Seth Green: My all-around game. Getting in the film for the most part. Becoming more mental with the game.
Gopher Hole: What do you see as your strengths as a player?
Seth Green: I don't really like to say that I have strengths. I like to be a well-rounded quarterback where you can't pick one out and say that he is a lot better at that than this.
Gopher Hole: What would it mean to maybe have the opportunity to play for the home state school?
Seth Green: It would mean a lot. It would please me because I have always dreamed of playing Division I football at a big school.
Gopher Hole: What does it feel like to have that many offers already? It is pretty unusual for a sophomore to have those kind of offers this early?
Seth Green: I am pleased, but it shows me that I have a long ways to go.
Gopher Hole: Do you come from an athletic family?
Seth Green: My dad (Brian Green) played football at the "U." He played running back.
Gopher Hole: Is that something you grew up watching the Gophers because of him?
Seth Green: Sort of everyone because he is an Alabama guy, so of course, he liked his Alabama teams. He is an Auburn guy over Alabama and Minnesota and all the teams. Just college sports in general.
