GopherHole Q&A: Charles Buggs Brings Versatility, Work Ethic to Minnesota

Tubby Smith picked up a second commitment for what has shaped up to be a solid 2012 recruiting class for the Gophers. Charles Buggs, a 6-7, 215lb forward from Hargrave Military Academy committed to Smith and the Gophers just days before the early signing period. Buggs’ recruitment dramatically picked up in recent months as the late-bloomer had coaches ranging from Arkansas, West Virginia, Marquette, Santa Clara and more chasing after him. But Smith and Coach Ron Jirsa were aggressive and persistent with Buggs and his family, and an official visit earlier in the Fall and a recent in-home visit from Smith sealed the deal.

GopherHole caught up with Buggs’ AAU coach Scott Davis who coached the future Gopher this past summer with the Triumph White team.
