After getting outscored 41-21 in the second half to lose in the home finale to Michigan 65-54, the Gopher women are tied with Illinois and likely Indiana who is losing at Iowa at 6-11 with one game left.

Gophers beat Indiana, but were swept by Illinois.

Indiana swept Illinois.

So #9 Indiana 2-1, #10 Illinois 2-2, #11 Minnesota 1-2 in 3-way tie break.

Too bad considering this was supposed to be one of Borton's better squads, and not a rebuilding year. Best post, point guard, and best shooter are done. Next year will be interesting. The Canadian recruit is supposed to be something else, so who knows.

I certainly hope so. Disappointing year. Looks like Hill made the right choice.

This has all the makings of a team quitting on their coach. That is not good.

You can't fire a team, so you usually fire the coach. Time for Borton to find work elsewhere. Is Whalen about ready to retire and turn to coaching?

They aren't going to eat the extension for women's basketball coach. She's here for better or worse for at least 3 more years unless something egregious happens within the program.
