Gopher UDFA

Both Carter and Sherils better have big camps to make the team. And I don't think you'll be seeing both of them on the roster by the start of the season. Maybe one but not both. If the Vikes plan to go with someone else in the return game (Patterson), I think Sherils will be the odd man out.

i feel as though the vikes approached the draft this way feeling as though carter would fall through the draft and they'd have first shot at him. really think he could be a solid depth player at the least

They certainly took their sweet time signing him if they were looking to scoop him up after the draft. Took them 2 or 3 days didn't it?

Ya. What I mean is that the vikes were probably the highest on carter out of any team and knew they'd get him eventually. who knows if carter was waiting to hear on other offers as well.

@gophergridiron: Good luck to former #Gophers TE John Rabe who will participate in the upcoming #Vikings rookie camp! Ski-U-Mah!

Go Gophers!!

Carter is going to have to show more willingness to take on contact and tackle if he wants to make it to the pro level.
He has coverage skills and can position himself well, but he is going to have to be able to beat a block and make some tackles.
That said good luck to Mr Carter. I hope all the Gophers give a good accounting of themselves.
