Figured I'd keep a thread to see where any Gophers sign.

It sounds like Gray is going to the 49ers. Could be a decent fit. He could learn/be 3rd string (emergency/change of pace) to Kapernick while playing TE.

@_Stoudermire11: Headed to the Cincinnati Bengals to start my dream in the NFL!!!

Go Gophers!!

@MarQueisG: Headed to SAN FRANCISCO I'm apart of the #49ers thanks for all your support !

Go Gophers!!

How is Michael Carter still unsigned? Am I wrong in thinking that he is a way better corner than Troy?

Its a shame he hasn't been picked up yet, I think his 40 time scared a lot of teams away, wasn't it like 4.79?

Not a Gopher, but Minneapolis native Terrell Sinkfield signed with the Dolphins.

On a side note, the Vikings signed Vandenburg.

I think Vandenburg has some ability and it will be interesting to see if he can stick around. I'm a Packer guy and I was hoping they would take a look at him, but they opted for the kid from Illinois State instead.

Are you talking about the same Vandenburg who started for Iowa? I can't believe he signed anywhere. Vikes must have liked him at the combine because they sure didn't watch any of his game tape.

Pretty much just a body I'm sure and more for the rookie mini camps and I would doubt if he even gets on the field in a preseason game. I would have liked the Vikes to either draft late or sign Tyler Bray or Matt Scott.

San Francisco is a really rough place for MarQueis to land. They drafted 11 guys, including a TE in the 2nd round to replace Delanie Walker. The Niners roster will be one of the 2-3 toughest in the entire league to crack, and there's a ton of competition from those late round picks to make the practice squad.

That's who I'm talking about. Great arm and great release. He has an uphill battle (as any UDFA has), but the kid has some talent.

Based on a tweet by Carter, it looks like he's getting a tryout with the Vikings.

@gophergridiron: Best of luck to former #Gophers CB Mike Carter with the Minnesota Vikings! Ski-U-Mah!

Go Gophers!!

As a Vikings fan I would absolutely love that. With the right coaching, I think Carter could be an absolute steal of an UDFA.

I hope he makes it on to the final roster. Carter could turn in to an NFL corner. I'm glad the Vikings have him a shot.

Yep, he plays much faster than his 40 time and I think he has a legit shot at making the team. Congrats Michael Carter.

Congrats to M Carter for signing up with the Vikes. hopefully he makes the team, but doesnt take Sherels spot. Can Carter return kickoffs/punts? doubt thats in the Vikings plans.

If his 40 time was close to accurate then he will not be considered for returning punts or kicks.

I kind of doubt he will be considered for that, especially since Sherels did such a nice job last year, but he did return punts for us on occasion.

Carter will not be looked at as a kick returner for the Vikings, especially given that they drafted one of the best returners in the country in the 1st round.

thats exactly what im afraid of. Carter > Sherels as a coverage corner. if Sherels wont be returning punts either, will he have a job? doubt it, but hopefully he proves me and the vikes wrong...

He won't return kicks or punts, Frazier has already basically handed the job to the 1st round pick Patterson.

@gophergridiron: Best of luck to former #gophers LB Lee Campbell on his mini camp tryout with the Vikings! Ski-U-Mah!

Agreed...I think he has a real chance to stick. The Vikes were razor thin at the position last year -- even Sherels got legit playing time near the end when Winfield was banged up. I could easily see Carter being the slot corner in nickel and dime situations by the end of the season.

i feel as though the vikes approached the draft this way feeling as though carter would fall through the draft and they'd have first shot at him. really think he could be a solid depth player at the least
