Gopher MVP so far?

Yes, I am aware of the original quote, I was just replying to a previous poster saying that said McKnight doesn't work hard unless he is close to the end zone....that's all.

I do not know McKnight and I'm sure he is a good kid, I haven't seen his name in the newspapers for anything other than catching TD's, anyways.

WATKINS. But for him forcing a fumble on the last KO in the MTSU Game, we likely would be winless.

I want to say Theret because of how bad we were without him, but that would be hard to justify, given why he missed those games

I still can't believe they actually showed-up wearing moo moos!

What I found a bit interesting was after the game a rather rough looking leather chap wearing individual sporting a cattle prod herded them back into a large cattle trailer outside the stadium. Not something you see everyday at a football game.

hmmmmm...let's see...I wonder who has been getting these WR's/TE's the ball....?

How 'bout 4-year starter and 3-year captain, Adam Weber...who owns every Gopher QB record in the book...and who just surpassed the 10,000 yard mark for career passing yardage?

He gets my vote.

He has been outplayed in every single game this year by the opposing team QB's. It is hard to pick a guy as the MVP when he has never been the best guy at his position in a single game. At least there have been games where Gray or Mcknight were the best receiver on the field. Lair has had games where he outperformed the opposing TE.

He is also real close to being the all time biggest loser in college football. By the end of his career I am fairly certain he will have the most losses by a starting QB in NCAA history.

Weber would probably be in my top 5 ballot for Gopher MVP.

Im gonna have to go ahead and say Mr Brewster himself. He managed to give us more time finding a new HC and get himself fired mid season.

But don't you know that he's so bad that he manages to be wildly inaccurate despite having the highest completion percentage of any Minnesota QB ever?

Completion percentage is an overrated stat when you take into account he threw probably close to 70 bubble and tunnel screens his freshman and sophomore years. Bubble and Tunnel screen was basically non-existent in the Mason playbook. The spread offense is designed to have high completion percentage. I would hope he would have a good one.

Rank these Gopher QB's in terms of who you would want quarterbacking your team.
Sauter
Cockerham
Khaliq
Cupito
Weber

1) Khaliq
2) Sauter
3) Cupito
4) Cockerham
5) Weber

Maybe that is just me.
