Gopher legend and fan favorite Rickey Foggie named the first HC of the Minnesota Myth (AFL)

This could be fun to watch. More competition for your entertainment dollars!

Foggie as coach - I like that.
Myth as the name of the team - nope, don't care for that...

... should have gone with something like Minnesota "Blizzard" or go with a Vikings spin, the "Ulfberhts" (the name for a Vikings sword).

Wow, Salina, KS has a team. The league must not be worried about TV markets.
The whole league looks remarkably underfinanced. I wish them luck when all the best players, pay, and owners are in the IFL.

Fascinating. Dubious investors/owners (me knowing nothing). A league model with a track record including decades of struggles and repeated failures. Looking at these fly by night sports franchises… and not just the AFL, why? A conspiracy-minded person could dream up an incentive for avenues for say…an exotic money laundering operation via ticket sales alterations, fixed games and bets, other assorted washing mechanisms. Not everyone can own a casino, and maybe the real estate and luxury car thing is getting blasé.

The Myth must not care about Rickey's likes. Eagan High School did.

I think they should have resurrected the name of the former Arena Football League team that lasted a single season in 1996: The Minnesota Fighting Pike.

The "Minnesota Moose" was a good team name. Trivia item... Minnesota also had a pro-tennis team for a short while that was called the "Buckskins".

I do like the "Fighting Ulfberhts" though, come on Rickey, change the name, you could shorten it to "FU" in our cheers.

Need some deets here.
Others probably know the specifics better than me but my rough understanding is Foggie was hired to coach at Eagan High School a few years back, and had his offer rescinded when it was found that he liked some "questionable" content on twitter. At least that's my recollection.
