Gopher Hockey Recruiting

And a likely top 10 Hobey finalist. So yes he's dang good. He's a star. Bona fide superstar are the guys that make you hit the edge of your seat every shift, like Cooley. It's just my personal interpretation. My point is he's dang good and better than Mooney.

And there's the Mooney back tweet after hyping up all of Twitter.
Fair enough, superstar is a subjective term in and of itself so I won't fight you on it. I think he will certainly be more than a PP merchant. Maybe "surefire top line forward" is a better term?

Tweet 2 = Ziemer back

So nothing new yet. They'll probably do Rombach and Luca too

Twitter needs to start banning all these larping insider/source accounts
This account also claimed he visited Minnesota this week. You never really know, but I feel like Gopher reporters would be able to confirm that if it was true. I still think there’s a chance we land him based off of other factors. And it sounds like Larson is very aggressive right now

Visit wouldn't equal a commitment.

Eight (8) points in two (2) years of HS hockey. Hopefully somebody can explain this one because it seems like nothing more than a courtesy to the Moorhead pipeline.

If it's real it's as a 15th forward to also bring in his brother. And if so, the Moorhead South thing is going to be even more real than I thought.

Note: There is a difference between this kid as a 15th forward vs. Harris as a 14th forward. But this is still ridiculous and you could finds hundreds and hundreds of better hockey players coming out of MN HS to be your 15th or 16th forward.

I can't access the tweet. Might have been deleted. Who are we talking about?

Lol the George Arnold commit post was a prank by him and his buddies. Pretty funny actually
You would think in this age of social media, some people would be a bit more cautious when seeing stuff like that. The 1st clue was when no one from the U reposted it.Watching some people try to justify the signing while others were pissed that he did not have club level talent was amusing.

Also because he put in his comment “8p 64games” poking fun at himself lol

Watched a video of shifts from Burnevik/Hall in a game this year since I think those two are the most likely to come. Skilled players, but I love that they look like absolute puck hounds.

IMO, an exciting 2026-27 recruiting class would go a long way towards earning some goodwill for Larson from fans that were disappointed with his hiring.
Yeah, I’m still skeptical of the hire but he does have a good group of coaches around him and they badly needed a GM or someone in that type of role. My hope was that they’d take a swing on a younger coach and hopefully get the next David Carle but it does seem like Larson understands what he needs to do and at the very least has managed to keep the two biggest pieces needed to compete next season. As far as recruiting it’s still early but he’s saying the right things at least.

I see this as a win for Gopher hockey. High quality players interested in Minnesota and Lou Nanne is not undermining him (a sea change). Who would you have hired?

Idk for sure who I would’ve hired but I would’ve interviewed Barr and some of the other coaches like Cashman/Bentley coach who have ties to the area. No idea if they actually did that or if there was mutual interest.

They didn't

They didn't
I don’t think they interviewed them either but we also don’t know if they reached out to see if there was any interest before the interviews. We know something like that happened with Raboin but don’t really know who else was reached out to besides the guys that interviewed.

If Murr does enter tomorrow, he has to be target number 1 with Dupont and the other big WHLers probably unrealistic.

Smith and Murr as your top pairing and you are set... And you can delay Harper and Laylin

If Smith and Murr leads Rombach to bail, it's okay.
