So, the curse of Gangelhoff strikes again.

Dennis Evans is bailing on his commitment.

This is the latest of a long list of improbable hits to the Gophers going back years.

Some of the occurances:
Fox blows knee
Fox blows knee
Ihnen blows knee
Ihnen blows knee
Reggie gets suspended
Guard sex tape
Murder charged guard
In juries too numerous to mention
White never suits up
Murphy injured in NCAA victory
……..

It’s not Johnson, it’s the whole program.

This isn't a curse.

We hired a coach with zero experience who got turned down by Montana State. He was a coach that most of us wouldn't have even been that excited if we added as an assistant coach. That decision has led to an historically bad run.

Those kinds of runs will almost always lead to folks jumping ship.

Thank you. Calling this a curse is like the ancients blaming their misfortune on some supernatural cause.

Bad decisions and apathy are not curses. Bad Gopher said it best.

The leadership of the U doesn't care. The upside of all this is that someone with age and experience, maybe me, suggested some time back that the only thing that would move the U's leadership is national embarrassment. We're now here.

Losers mentality
 

The Gophers (hell, Minnesota sports in general) may be cursed but this is not one of the examples. Hire a super unqualified coach. Unqualified coach is out of his depth and the program becomes historically bad. Top players say “no thanks.”

This is a pretty clear A to B, cause-and-effect line.
 







Pay big money to a well known coach that can recruit instate kids
