What a whirlwind of a few weeks. I was convinced the program was imploding and PJ was a fraud. I thought Greg Harbaugh was a football terrorist. I was watching 2019 highlights crying myself to sleep every night. I would play Mo Ibrahim, Bateman, Tyler Johnson and AW Jr. highlights on repeat, convinced that was the last time I would enjoy watching a Gopher football team.

Let's have a good vibes thread and discuss what we like about our staff, what we're seeing on the field, and how we're feeling heading into the UCLA and bye weeks. I'll start:

  • Huge respect to PJ for having the balls to go for it.
  • Really like seeing Harbaugh be creative in how we can get the ball to DT in space instead of predictable run plays. Overall there seems to be a priority to get DJ and DT the ball in space and let them make plays for us.
  • Big respect to the staff for throwing Perich in there and letting him get a lot of snaps at free safety. He is a game-breaking talent and should be getting the bulk of the snaps.
  • Although there's still room for improvement, our offensive line looks like it got some swagger back last night. I saw some jawing out there and some nasty blocks.
  • Max looks much calmer. The kid is in control of our offense now and it gives me a bunch of confidence going into the back half of our schedule.
  • This comes down to coaching and veteran leadership: a lot of teams that lose big, emotional games early in the season will hang it up and whither. This team has its swagger and mojo back and is clicking at the right time. That says a lot about the type of character we have on the staff and in our position groups, and it just looks like they all believe they can turn this season around into something special.
Huge road game next week in Pasadena. Going into the bye with a win and at 4-3 will be huge for the program. Let's go!

As I posted in another thread.....this was quite possibly the game I wanted the team to win the most this year......next to the Wisconsin game.
Keeping Floyd would have been nice but concur this one was important to set the tone going forward to the future. We are still 2-6 against USC if I recall correctly. A ways to go.

Speaking of Floyd, maybe a trophy is warranted? Could be a snowglobe with Los Angeles on one side and Minneapolis on the other, with a surf board shaped pedestal to record game scores? Might look like this...

Speaking of good vibes, California Dreamin' on a sunny Sunday day....

Great win. Ski U Mah!

I mentioned after the MI game that this team had found some energy to build upon. So glad they played tough n got the big W. Hope this propels them to a winning season and a bowl game. Go Gophers !

We play Iowa every year. USC is a helmet school and nationally ranked. Much more rare opportunity. Add in that they are a newcomer to the conference....it's nice to see that they aren't walking in and cleaning up.

Huge win that we needed in the worst possible way. Did a good job fighting with a good team for 60 minutes, and came out on top. Before the fourth and goal play, I was saying I'd take the field goal. Kudos to PJ for making the right call and getting 7.

Brosmer’s 79% completion rate. He is dependable and steady, and getting used to B1G pace, etc.

Much better OC play calling; making our opponents defend the whole field.

Taylor + Major are a good pair.

Gophers now have top ranked passing defense in the B1G (based on yards surrendered per game: 114 yards!).

Gophs might be the best 3-3 team out there right now.

Very well said. I think you can begin to believe what your eyes are telling you especially from the 2nd half of football in the Big House following through into Huntington Bank Stadium against USC on Saturday night. There are too many tough games left to predict too many lofty outcomes, but I will say that the last six quarters of football this Gopher Team has played reminds me that in my very limited football IQ, I have to believe the last six teams left on the schedule will have a lot to try to game plan for as season winds down to the last half of October and finally November. But for now the Gopher Team heads west. Beat the stinking Bruin in Westwood, Gopher!

Lol. One game and you’re turned around. Nothing different than the past few years here.

Ethan Robinson continues to play extremely well. Much bigger pick up than I anticipated.

I thought the tackling was much better than before. Not great but a lot better. And of course Percich. Just an an electric athlete we only occasionally get here.

Lighten up. This is college football. It's tradition to be dramatic. You're also on a forum talking about 19 year olds playing a game.
