With one kid from Pahokee FLA already committed and a strong play being put on by the staff for his team mate, I found this article in yesterday's USA Today to be a really interesting read.

Median income of $10K...yikes, that is a long way from Eden Prarie's $113,927 yet I guarentee Pahokee would kick EP's ass. 11 kids D1 bound, wow.

Interesting read. Their neighboring town, Belle Glade, is not in any better shape with a per capita income of just over $11,000 and a very high violent crime rate (per Wikipedia). Both towns produce a crazy number of high major football players and eventual NFL players.

Interesting also in that on the opposite side of the same county are desired addresses such as Boca Raton and Palm Beach.

Something to notice for anyone who might think the talent in Florida is overrated. Pahokee has 11 players on their current team with D1 offers and they are 6-3. The talent there is amazing.
