Walker gave us some much needed minutes in the second half today, and one of the more "oh no" offensive and defensive sequences! But you gotta love the big fella's touch around the hoop on a couple of those baskets.

There will be quite a few games where he'll see little time on the court, but we'll get games like tonight where he'll give us some huge minutes.

Go Gophers!!

I was sure I heard Tubby shout, "Put it up Mo, you're open!". But then again...

Walker

Ha ha. "Oh no" doesn't begin to describe his three attempt. That was so unexpected I was completely incapable of speech. I just sat for about 30 seconds with my mouth hanging open in shock.

Still you're correct, he had some nice plays as well. I was pleased with his effort in going after rebounds on the defensive end in addition to his points.

Maybe he shouldn't have put up that shot, but he still played some good minutes down the stretch and had a couple big put backs. I'm happy with the way he played especially for a freshman.

No- Tubby said:"If you put it up there's a bench seat open!"

Anyway the big boy had a nice night overall and got a semi harmless education on when a 300# center shouldn't shoot a 3 ball. Gotta love it.

Colton was sitting there at the scorers table ready to sub in when he jacked that one up, I'm sure he figured, I'm going out of the game anyway so......... I almost fell of the couch.

Solid contribution tonight.

If you go back and look at that defensive play again, you'll see it should have been a charge. I guess Mo has that shot in his repertoire but it was not the right time to take that shot. Great game from the freshman big.

Well I'm glad he learned his dont-shoot-a-3-near-the-end-of-a-close-game lesson in a game we won. for the most part he did just what we needed, came in when called upon and made plays when the opportunities came.

Yes, should have been a charge for sure. Bad call.

I'd love to be sitting in the room when they look at the video.

Mo did shoot close to 40% from 3-Point Range in High School...

not saying I agreed with the shot, though....

I like Mo's attitude, he just needs to get the body to go with that attitude.

I thought there were a few tough calls on Walker where it looked like it should've been a charge.

Mo's a talent. There's not many 7' kids who can come in and contribute as Freshmen, but he is/can. He needs to get in shape though as he's winded easily & is more big than strong. Tubby will have him where he needs to be sooner rather than later. That said, I actually really liked his hustle & attitude after jacking up that 3 to get his butt all the way back & try to take that charge (I thought it was a charge btw).

I think this kid has the potential to be a very solid player in a few years. He looked great out there tonight IMO. He will look good down low when we lose Ralph and Colt to graduation.

In a different situation, I have no problem with Mo taking that shot. Nursing a lead in the waning minutes, probably not the best situation. He played well and gave us some quality minutes wit Colton and RSIII in foul trouble.

BTW-- the ref on the UNC end in the 2nd half was atrocious. Notice we only had 1 block tonight? Any time UNC was at the bucket in traffic they got a call. I don't like to complain about the refs but since we won anyway I think its not bad form.

MO

Mo really got hosed on the first block call. The ref came running and pointing that Mo was on the half circle under the hoop so it was a block. Mo was a foot + in front of the circle. That call was a joke!
