It's really not that interesting
How many hours do you think Brewster and his staff have put into recruiting SH? It may be a record for U sports. However, what was he supposed to do? If SH kept giving him signals that the Gophers had a real chance, then Brew probably did the right thing.
But, we've had many posts here that have decried this year's class as not good enough, even though it has 18 three stars and 2 four stars. We know Brewster and company work endlessly at recruiting and there aren't many wasted hours. So if all resources have been used, then it comes down to how those resources were allocated. It's also apparent that many of those resources were used to recruit SH. Then it's a question of if we had spent one less hour recruiting SH, and one more recruiting this other guy, could we have gotten that other guy?
Whether or not Brewster gets SH, I like the job he did this year. With SH he's behind that rock and a hard place, but it will pay dividends for future recruits, especially in state and at CDH. Most people love guys that work hard and are honest and superlatives aside, Brew seems to be both of those.
