per the Spokesman Review:

Gonzaga University men’s basketball coach Mark Few is facing a DUI charge after he was pulled over Monday north of Coeur d’Alene, according to the Coeur d’Alene Police Department.

Few was stopped around 8 p.m. at North Fourth Street and East Hanley Avenue in Dalton Gardens, according to the police report. The Spokesman-Review obtained the report through a public records request.

Police pulled Few over after receiving a report that he was driving erratically and speeding, according to the report. The vehicle involved, according to the report, was a Cadillac Escalade.

Police said Few, who exhibited “several signs of intoxication,” refused to complete field sobriety tests, but provided breath samples of .119 and .120. The legal limit is .08.

Go Uber/Lyft/Taxi's!!

That's what happens when you go to Idaho!

The difference between .08 and .12 is only about 1 hard drink or two beers. While it is still not a good thing and easily avoidable, it seems the bigger issue is Coach Few's decision making while intoxicated. Obviously if we try to recruit him to coach here no one will be taking him to the Vu (or perhaps we will and before he knows it he will have signed his name on the dotted line).

Word of wisdom to Chet - Don't spike the coaches water while he coaches, he may just drive your career into oblivion.

Think he’ll get fired?
Don't know much about Gonzaga. I wonder if they have the same level of virtue signalling leaders ready to pounce on a public figure to further their own career or sense of self worth.

Saul Smith got a DWI and was suspended for a few months but he was only an assistant coach here at Minnesota. It seems like most coaches get some sort of suspension no matter the sport or level at which they coach. If Tubby or Richard got one would they have been suspended? Canned? Run out of town?

It is not a good look if you have top recruits showing up for 1st day of classes and you need to tell them you might be suspended or serving time in the workhouse during the upcoming season.

Chet, all is forgiven. I am sure we can get you into classes yet if you want to fly home and enroll. No need to play for a bum. Skip the scholarship, I am sure we can find a sponsor for you.

P.S. Per Gonzaga's staff, please respect Coach Few's right to privacy

Might be a short suspension of some kind, wrapped up before the start of practice. Two potential snags would be whether there are any prior offenses and whether he was on some type of official University business.
