how the hell isnt barrerio on that list?
goofy looking, pompous, and hard to listen too........and doesnt talk sports on a sports radio show
oh wait, he will today, the gophers lost
Ruesse is the ring leader. nobody with the balls to go their own way in this town. he set's the tone. Doogie is disappointing because he follows and is supposedly one of our own, but without Ruesse this thread doesn't exist.
What does one of our own mean? I am realist who has expectations ... the Big Ten is in a down period ... is expecting an occasional trip to the Outback Bowl wrong? Why can't the "U" achieve to be like OSU, Mich., etc. ?

Michigan? Are you up to date Doogie? Michigan finished 1-7, tied for last.
It most certainly can. You should be more interested in the process than the fact that we haven't arrived. The sport is much more interesting than the incessant whining from the local media. Somewhere along the line the local media decided they were more important than the sports they covered. I could care less what you think, I want a pro that can tell me what Brew thinks. I want coverage that gives me insight into just wtf Fisch is trying to achieve. Lastly I want decent perspective. We are doing just what Mason did, in a growing program. The difference is we now are playing good Defense and ST's while playing lousy offensive football. We finished just where this program should have finished. Nowhere close to where I hoped we'd finish. But right on lines with the strength of the talent and the schedules.
The internet provides me with all the whining I can handle, I sure as hell don't need it from you and the rest of you hacks. Journalists my ass. Too scared to even talk to the folks you want to bash constantly. i don't blame you, because then you'd have to actually provide some real insight and you'd be exposed for your shallow skill set.
The glory days of Michigan ... still considered an elite program overall.
College football, so Brewster is no different than most, is extremely secretive ... media is allowed to watch players stretch during practice and a few minutes of individual drills ... 90% of the time in press conference settings, coaches will say what they want to say and not answer direct questions ... catching up with someone at the Dome yesterday who knows many inside the program, the positive stuff Brewster spews on Tuesdays and on CCO, is different from what he'll tell those closest to him ... so, like every reporter in town, we will never get the full truth.
How come your stuff is always I know someone who knows someone. Or I heard from an insider close to the program, or Ruesse said it and he makes big bucks so I guess I'll say it too. Are you even a journalist? Call Maturi. Call Brewster. Call Fisch. Do your damn job.
I went to the first few Brewster press conferences and provided the board with his quotes ... then was able to sift through the BS, and stopped going ... and maybe I'm being too strong because it's not all BS by the way ... and in many ways, he is better than many coaches.
Former players? Mason's players? You don't think there is a loyalty question there? Sour grapes. Why don't you ask them how come this team looks so bad but is getting the same results you guys got. Then ask them, how does it feel to know you guys were just as crappy as this team?? I'd be interested to know what Brewer has to say about that? Oops, I mean some former players you talk to...all the time...in the midst of your frequent dialogues with Brewster and Maturi.
Go ask your buddies these tough questions. I want to see what Brewster has to say about these concerns you have. And maybe a little skill, ask a follow up question or two if you don't feel he answers your question. And then if you're not satisfied still, tell him exactly what you think it looks like he's saying and how it's going to look when you write the story.
NewEngland_Gold -- Journalist is a loose term, especially in this day-and-age of journalism ... When I was at KFAN, I was encouraged to give my opinion ... when I was at Rivals in the spring, that was more from the beat reporter angle ... beat reporters are supposed to be, for the most part, unbiased ... Marcus Fuller's game story on Sunday was different, but very well delivered I thought ... when I am on CHs 4 & 9, they want my opinion, same w/ AM 1500 KSTP and my Star Tribune blog ... more often than not, I am asked to state my opinion, and not take the beat reporter angle.
