It's definitely reassuring that they've announced their intent to come back. But after what happened last season with Mallory, it's kinda hard to relax about it up until the first game! I sure hope that was a rare occurrence.

It's life as a modern day fan, but Dawn seems to be building a culture that most players want to be a part of.
 







All the signals suggest this is a program on a serious upswing. The players clearly want to be here.

lowest membership for DTA is $10 a month.. I know not everyone has the spare cash.. but a great way to make sure we can keep our fav players and have more $$ to use in the portal..

Coach P and her staff deserve a lot of credit for recruiting and now retaining the majority of her roster. Looking forward to adding some more talent from the portal. Go Gophers !
 

Gotta think they will get the right fits with the stable program they have to offer. Has to shine brightly on Dawn in the recruiting world with what she’s done on and off the court. Retention is a great look.

Some players have appeared in commercials for local companies. It’s all part of the deal.
 

Gopher women's basketball retained their best player in Grace Grocholski. Coach P doing an incredible job of retaining her players. (versus Whalen whose players all left her the season before she got fired by AD Coyle). It makes a BIG difference who you choose as a leader. I don't miss the umm..ummm. we will review film and try to get better BS. Finally got a good one in Coach P.

I really don't know why we need to rip on her and Ben. They were both given jobs with no HC experience. They were alums that showed some signs, but the U couldn't allow them to learn on the job anymore. Through COVID and the new era of NIL and portal, I think it all worked out for everyone.

I think the ripping in mainly on Mark Coyle for being an idiot for hiring HC positions where the hired candidate had little to no head coaching experience. Even a high school AD knows better than to hire a coach with no experience. I think Mark's main goal is the make money versus win sport contests. After all, its the money part that pays his $1M+ salary. Its the fans and players that lose out. They should find a way to tie his pay to the win-lose records of the Gophers. Whalen was a fund raiser hire. She used the opportunity to hire her friends and play mid talent MN kids. Plus get paid way more money then she'd ever seen before. Similar to the Lynx staff. Its all about who you know versus what you know. All friends helping each other get paid.
