How many guys has Pitino redshirted since he's been here?

At some schools it’s a luxury not here yet. Hurt would of been a great red shirt candidate
Kinda there will be minutes for everyone though. Hurt will probably get some time at the 4 especially with Oturu maybe missing some time during the non-con season. So McBrayer, Kalscheur or Stull will play some 3 when Amir goes to the bench at times as well. I'm pretty sure everyone with the program fully expects Carr to have to sit this season. This is from ways back but Doogie isnt wrong when he says we have crowded backcourt. I think Geno would start still but Geno, Pree, IW, Brock Stull, Gabe Kalscheur, potentially Marcus Carr. That’s a lot of depth. I wouldn’t say crowded unless Carr becomes eligible though

I guess you could call it a crowded backcourt, just based on quantity. But, the quality is a question mark.
Dupree is an OK player, but he's not great and is strictly a 2.
Washington has had a couple of moments, but he's been mostly bad thus far. I'm not counting any chickens there.
Carr likely isn't playing this year. Certainly not something you want to plan your 2018-2019 season around.
Kalacheur is kind of a specialist. He's a spot shooter if he plays. He's almost certainly not a guy who will get significant minutes. If so, things have gone off the rails.
That leaves Stull as a proven guy, and given that he hasn't played a full season in a major conference, there are question marks there.
Successful programs would be calling our backcourt a potential big-time weakness going into this year.....with or without Crandall.
Even if we get Crandall I highly doubt Gabe would RS. Doesn't mean he's going to play a ton, but redshirting a guard is pretty rare. It's a little more common for big guys, but still fairly rare. Throw in the fact that we already have two guys sitting out this season due to transferrring -- having three guys sit out the entire season due to non-injury reasons after a season where we just dealt with injuries like we did seems crazy to me.

So who do we have for big men to back and/or help Jordan Murphy?

Only at the YMCA is Hurt a big man...Curry, Jarvis, Oturu and potentially Hurt. We are fine as is.

No disagreement with that statement. He'd be undersized but he could play if needed.Hurt will never play the 5, but he can play some minutes at the 4, especially if he continues to get stronger.
I WOULD RATHER SEE MY KID AT THE 4 FOR MINNY THAN HURT, BUT HE IS GOING TO IU TO GET AN EDUCATION AND BECOME A TEACHER. I JUST DONT THINK HE IS BIG ENOUGH. BTW MY KID IS 6'9" & 230. HAVE A GOOD DAY...CANT WAIT FOR GOPHER FOOTBALL & BASKETBALL TO START.
