That's my hope at least.

Garin looks completely overmatched. I didn't think he'd be that strong, but I was hoping he'd be fast - and he's not. So little speed and little strength - great. Can anyone step up and play D-End for us right now. Is Anthony Jacobs alive? We also need Wilhite to step up this week/year. C'mon kid.

And the game is just too fast for Lewis right now. Always a step a behind. People who don't think Theret helps this D are crazy.

While we're talking defense, is our linebacking corps big enough for big ten play? I like Rallis and Cooper a lot and I think they'll be fine, but is Tinsley big enough? If Wilhite is as athletic as they say he is - why not move him to MLB? He's not producing like I thought he would at DE.

I don't think there is anything wrong enough with the lb's and d-line to warrant wholesale changes let alone position changes. They have made mistakes but nothing that can't be overcome.

The same applies to the secondary as individuals. In opinion, the main culbrit of what's wrong is a lack of experience in the secondary. Nerves, and uncertainty about what they are supposed to be doing has led to blown tackles and low confidence. In a effort to reduce responsibility the calls where made easier. This resulted in a vanilla defense that South Dakota was easily able to exploit.

Why do I think it will get better?
The players are getting experienced (much to our chagrin-lol), Kyle is returning with 30+ games of experience, great tackling ability and a mastery of the defense. The defense will be aligned correctly, easier scores will slow down and confidence will build. The coaches can scheme offenses and change those schemes (make adjustments) mid-game. Another Safety with 30+ games will be returning in the near future.

But all that together with the young guns getting better, a new and inproved offense and I believe we can surprise some folks to become bowl eligible.:)

Sportsfan24:

I commented right after the second USD touchdown how obvious it was that we missed both your son and Theret. I'm not sure they are the complete answer for what I witnessed Saturday but they will definitely make a positive impact...and I can't wait to see them both take the field.

How is Kim's recovery coming along?

Please wish him the best of luck and a quick recovery, from the non-troll posters here.
