Garcia Ankle

Hope Ben has some balls and sits Garcia and Patterson for Sconnie and focuses on Rutgers. Win against Rutgers guarantees us the BTT. Sad that this is the state of Gopher BB but it is what it is.

I think the Gophers are in the BTT already. Penn State is eliminated. Washington with 4 conference wins can't overtake them. Even if the Gophers don't win either of their last two games, Iowa and USC are a game behind and the Gophers have the head-to-head tie breaker with them so they would have to win both of their games (low probability of that) to move ahead of us.

This is Minnesota, so it could happen that both Iowa and USC sweep their last two games. And none of us would be at all surprised.

Well, one of Iowa's games is against Michigan State (home) so I'd say that's almost impossible. Their other game is at Nebraska; they have a better chance in that one. USC's odds are better. They have Washington at home and UCLA on the road. They've been pretty disappointing lately (2-8 in their last 10 games) though. If either one of them fails to win both, we're in.

Of course, if we win at Rutgers (not so unlikely), it doesn't matter what they do. As rated by Haslametrics, the Gophers have been the 13th best team in the country on the road this season and one of only four Big Ten teams with winning records on the road. Have a little faith in this team for a change.

Well ESPN gives us a 25.2% chance to win tonight so that's better than 0. I believe in this team, despite the many attempts by them to make me pull out my hair

Sure, a fair amount of stress comes with following this team. In the losses, they are more often than not blown out in the most aggravating fashion. In the wins, they're nail biters to the very end.

25% seems a bit generous to me given the opponent, how they beat us in the previous meeting, and that we seem to have no home court advantage this season. I see that the ESPN probability for us winning at Rutgers went up to 33%. I have a better feeling about that one.
