Actually I think the curse was on the Gophers for a lot longer than that!!!

We haven't been to the Rose Bowl or any New Year's Bowl in almost 50 years!!
Just when it looks like the basketball team is on the road to greatness something very very bad happens.........such as brawls, Mitch Lee and the Clem Haskins scandal.

This curse doesn't seem to be in effect for the other Gopher sports though.
