I hope so too. I like the white hats and pants, but white doesn't mean gold needs to banished and I'm glad gold shows up even when white is prominent. I'm an SDSU fan. The school song recites "yellow and blue" but the last five years, there's hardly any yellow in the uniforms to be found. Its almost straight up blue and white save for maybe one game a year when yellow pants and facemasks come out, almost throw back like.
 


I understand the shade being thrown at anthracite. It was pretty bad in the last uniform set (Fleck's first set). The problem is the "anthracite" looked more like a mid level gray and the colors it was surrounded with didn't make anything pop. It was really bad. But, before I put the last shovel of dirt on top of anthracite's grave, I do have to point out that the Kill-era anthracite uniforms were actually pretty good (the ones worn the night the Gophers lost to Michigan by blowing clock management on the 1 yard line). They had the correct shade of the color and with the thick maroon collars and maroon numbers, with just a bit of gold - were very sharp in my opinion. I would have been just fine if they had been worn again. Very much unlike Fleck's version of the color, which sucked Deez Nutz.
 

I had been very much against the anthracite uniforms.... until we absolutely curb stomped Maryland in them during 2019. Still not a look I like, but that did help a bit with its reputation.
